Fantastic Fest will have the global premiere of Kids Vs. Aliens is a sci-fi horror thriller directed by Jason Eisener (Hobo with a Shotgun, Dark Side of the Ring). In early 2023, RLJE Films will distribute the picture in theatres, on demand, and digitally, with a Shudder release to follow in the fall of the same year. The largest genre film festival dedicated to sci-fi, fantasy, and horror, Fantastic Fest 2022 will take place in Austin, Texas. Dominic Mariche and Phoebe Rex play Gary and Samantha, a brother-and-sister combination who spend the whole 75 minutes of the film alone at home on Halloween.
Gary wants to stay in and watch scary movies with his pals, while Samantha prefers to hang out with the cool kids. The two teenagers decide to have a party, but things quickly go from exciting to terrifying when extraterrestrial invaders show up at their house. The siblings and the other partygoers will need to cooperate if they want to stay alive. Sam, played by Rex, is shown in the teaser having a conversation with her pals about planning the party that serves as the film’s catalyst.
As the celebration begins, brief footage of the alien assault play. The teaser concludes with the statement “Fuck space,” which seemed to sum up the flick perfectly. Eisener not only directed the unrated picture, but he also co-wrote the script with Hobo with a Shotgun screenwriter John Davies. Calem MacDonald (as Billy), Asher Grayson Percival (as Jack), and Ben Tector (as Miles) join Mariche and Rex in the film’s lead roles. Rob Cotterill, Josh Goldbloom, Jason Levangie, Brad Miska, and Marc Tetreault serve as producers. After making its debut at Fantastic Fest, Kids Vs. Aliens will hit cinemas, VOD, and Digital in the first quarter of 2023, and Shudder shortly after.
