Oh, autumn. The leaves are crisp and the air is cool, and pumpkin spiced treats are everywhere. Lots of new scary movies and TV series are on the horizon to keep you on the edge of your seat, and one of them has an exclusive release we don’t want you to spoil. Watch the second season of the SYFY and USA Network series while nursing an icy cold one from Seattle, Washington’s Elysian Brewing (if you’re of legal drinking age, that is).
Chucky: A Killer Wit Beer, the newest offering from the brewery, has a flavorful blend of chamomile, pumpkin, cranberry, and cinnamon.
With its mild flavour and pumpkin aroma, this pumpkin wit beer with cranberries is a great accompaniment to a marathon of Child’s Play or Chucky. Wheat-heavy, hazy, and smelling of bread and lemon, “witbier,” or “white beer” as it is known in English, is a traditional beer type in Belgium. Mixing it with spices and flavourings like those listed above creates the ideal balance of tasty and refreshing. Beer drinkers, if you’re curious about witbiers and haven’t tried Allagash White or Hoegaarden White, those are two excellent options. This beer, with an alcohol content of just 5.3% and an IBU (International Bitterness Unit) count of just 20, means it has very moderate bitterness and is thus perfect for reviving hot and sticky summer days.
Elysian, which debuted in 1996 and is one of the oldest brewers in the country, is responsible for some of the most popular beers on the market. The Elysian team behind the new Chucky-themed beer also developed a hilariously macabre video to accompany the news. Throughout the short, the doll keeps following the brewer as he works till the end of his shift. Chucky outruns the worker on the night shift, but his recklessness has devastating implications for another brewer in the morning. The second season of the film-turned-TV-series franchise developed by Don Mancini will premiere next month.
In the next season, we’ll see Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur), Devon Evans (Björgvin Arnarson), and Lexy Cross (Alyvia Alyn Lind) take on the possessed Good Guy doll in a Catholic reformatory. Brad Dourif, Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise, Jennifer Tilly, Barbara Alyn Woods, and Devon Sawa, among others, will all be reprising their roles as well. On October 5, Chucky will slash his way into SYFY and USA Network.
