The Adult Swim Festival is a must-see for any and all Adult Swim fans. On September 23, you’ll be able to view the festival on demand on The Roku Channel. It’s a three-part special featuring performances from the Adult Swim Festival live event in Philadelphia’s Fishtown area. Backstage interviews with El-P and Killer Mike of Run the Jewels and Tierra Whack will be included in addition to performances by the rap duo and the rappers at the Adult Swim Festival this past August.
To celebrate the release of the special, Adult Swim will make available more than 120 episodes of fan favourites like the Alabama Jackson digital shorts, the Rick and Morty anime digital shorts, Vindicators 2 (a Rick and Morty spin-off), Aquadonk Side Pieces (a digital spin-off of Aqua Teen Hunger Force), Robot Chicken, Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal, and Metalocalypse. Ambient Swim, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Samurai Jack, Birdgirl, Black Dynamite, Joe Pera Talks with You, Loiter Squad, SMILING FRIENDS, Teenage Euthanasia, Tuca & Bertie, YOLO: Crystal Fantasy, and Squidbillies episodes will also be accessible.
Adult Swim and Cartoon Network President Michael Ouweleen called the festival “unique” since it signified Adult Swim’s return to live events and he was “eager for fans to feel the enthusiasm and excitement.” Roku’s Head of Content Acquisition, Jennifer Vaux, exclaims, “The Roku Channel is excited to be the official AVOD (advertising-based video on demand) home for the Adult Swim Festival.” Adult Swim, a network aimed squarely at adults, coexists with Cartoon Network. Established in Atlanta in 2001 by Mike Lazzo, the original chief programmer for Cartoon Network, Adult Swim broadcasts its shows at night, when the network’s core demographic is likely to be asleep. Hours of operation for Adult Swim are 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Eastern time, Monday through Saturday, and 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday.
This year, on September 23, viewers of The Roku Channel may stream the Adult Swim Festival and episodes of their favourite shows for free with advertisements. You may watch The Roku Channel on any Roku streaming player, online at The Roku Channel, or on your iOS or Android mobile device or Smart TV by installing The Roku Channel app.
