A long time has passed since the last volume, but now Shonen Jump has revealed that Hunter x Hunter Volume 37 will be released in November of 2022. Twitter’s official Shonen Jump account made the announcement, detailing the upcoming volume’s contents and when it will be available in Japan. Volume 36 of Hunter x Hunter was released in Japan in October 2018, and an English translation is scheduled for publication by VIZ Media in August 2019. Sections 371–380 were included in the prior book.
Shonen Jump’s tweet announcing the news was liked and retweeted over 160 thousand times when fans found out the good news. Supporters on Reddit have also responded favourably to the news, with some expressing optimism that the publication of fresh chapters is imminent.
A lot of attention is paid to the news of the volume release because Hunter x Hunter has been on sabbatical for a long time, with the last chapter being released on November 26, 2018. Yoshihiro Togashi (the man behind Yu Yu Hakusho) has a new manga out called Hunter x Hunter. Beginning in March 1998, it was serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump.
Publication in the series began at a steady pace with few interruptions. However, since 2006, the series has been put on indefinite pause owing to Togashi’s health problems. Togashi gave an update on his health a few months ago, and he’s still having trouble with his back. Despite this, Togashi is plugging away at the manga, posting regular updates on his Twitter feed.
New chapters 381–390 will be included in Hunter x Hunter Volume 37. These are the last ten chapters to be published in Weekly Shonen Jump before the series is collected into volumes. This indicates that there will be no new chapters in the upcoming volume. Nonetheless, readers anticipate the publication with the hope that it portends the imminent arrival of the following set of chapters.
As of this writing, the publication date for Volume 37 in Japan is set for November 4, 2022. There has been no announcement regarding the volume’s English release date by VIZ Media.
