A quick review of chapter 197 of Jujutsu Kaisen
After her brief training montage, Maki emerges from Miyo’s Simple Domain at the start of chapter 197 of Jujutsu Kaisen and declares that she is now in peak physical condition. Time moved far more quickly within Miyo’s realm, as this chapter explains; by the time Maki and he had fought over a thousand sumo matches, less than a minute had elapsed in the actual world. When Naoya saw that Maki could outpace him, he took off after her and voiced his displeasure. While in flight, he attempted to stop his cousin, but she successfully avoided his strike.
In Chapter 197, we learn that Maki’s enhanced senses now allow her to detect temperature and density variations in the air, which she may then use to propel herself in whatever direction she pleases. Maki kicked Naoya’s upper torso away, while Daidou and Miyo joined in and sliced him in half. In the last moments of the chapter, a humanoid Naoya emerges from her shell and uses Domain Expansion.
Chapter 197 of Jujutsu Kaisen left readers hanging when it saw a furious Naoya fighting with everything he had left against Maki. An all-out war between Maki and the cursed spirit Naoya is brewing in this chapter, and it promises to be the most exciting chapter yet in the ongoing Sakurajima Colony arc. Fans will have to wait until next week to see what Akutami has in store for them in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 198 since it was revealed in chapter 197 that the manga will go on hiatus for a week.

Information About Chapter 198
In the opening pages of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 198, readers will get their first glimpse of Naoya’s home. His metamorphosis from a worm-like cursed spirit to a cocoon-like shape, and then to what appears to be a humanoid form, has been swift and unexpected. As a result, it’s not obvious if he’ll be able to completely dominate Maki with his domain.
Since Maki is unable to use cursed energy, and Naoya is obsessed with showing that she is not like Toji, it is likely that he would try to lock her there alone.
The former mocked her in chapter 197, saying that she couldn’t defeat a cursed spirit without the use of cursed weaponry or cursed physical strikes. Daidou is clearly not antagonistic toward Maki, and he may return her sword to her before she becomes locked in Naoya’s domain. With any luck, the full nature of the sword Mai created for Maki in her last moments will be revealed in Chapter 198. It might shed further light on whether or not the sword is cursed, or whether Maki’s exceptional strength and finely trained senses would be enough to kill Naoya even with an ordinary blade.
