Emmy winner Jharrel Jerome has joined the already impressive cast of Dennis Quaid, Timothy Olyphant, Claire Danes, and Zazie Beetz in the forthcoming limited series Full Circle on HBO Max, as reported by Deadline. According to the source, Jerome will portray a figure who is a part of a New York-based criminal organisation. Director Steven Soderbergh (Magic Mike, Ocean’s Eleven) is behind the 6-part series.
While little specifics have been shared, we do know that the series centres on the investigation of a failed kidnapping. Long-buried mysteries linking contemporary New York City’s diverse population will be uncovered through the inquiry. In the Netflix original series When They See Us, directed by Ava DuVernay, Jerome plays one of the five teenage boys falsely accused of committing a violent crime in Central Park. In 2019, he was awarded the Emmy for Lead Actor in a Limited Series for his portrayal of Korey Wise. The Netflix film Concrete Cowboy, the Audience Network series Mr Mercedes, and Barry Jenkins’ Oscar-winning picture Moonlight are all projects on which Jerome has worked previously. I’m a Virgo, an absurdist comedy series for Amazon, and Night of the Assassins, a limited series in which he will appear and produce, are just two of his planned projects.
It has been announced that Soderbergh would helm all six episodes. Together with Casey Silver and Ed Solomon (who will also write for the show), he will be the show’s executive producer. No Sudden Move, a criminal thriller starring Don Cheadle, Benicio del Toro, David Harbour, Jon Hamm, Julia Fox, and Brendan Fraser, reteams Soderbergh, Solomon, and Silver. Soderbergh’s other recent projects, including the comedy-drama, Let Them All Talk and the thriller Kimi, have all been produced for the streaming site. Soderbergh’s three-year overall pact with HBO and HBO Max begins in 2020, and Full Circle is a component of that agreement. As part of the agreement, he will create programming for both platforms, including television shows. First-look film option is also included in the arrangement.
No more information about the limited series has been made public.
