An updated trailer for DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Netflix’s upcoming limited series on one of America’s most renowned serial murderers, has been published. Evan Peters plays Dahmer in the show. The next show will depict the tragic life of serial killer Jeffery Dahmer, who killed 17 boys and men between 1978 and 1991. The series will take a different tack than most true crime shows by not following the perpetrator but rather focusing on the victims and diving deeply into the bigotry and failings of the Wisconsin police department in their investigation of Dahmer’s killings. The cast of DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story also includes Niecy Nash, Penelope Ann Miller, Shaun J. Brown, Colin Ford, and Richard Jenkins, in addition to Peters.
Directors Paris Barclay, Carl Franklin, and Janet Mock work with creators Ryan Murphy (who also developed American Horror Story) and Ian Brennan (who also produced The Politician and Hollywood). Murphy and Brennan are not only stars but also executive producers of the new show. The first four episodes of the limited series were written by Murphy and Brennan, and the fifth episode was written by Brennan alone. Writer credits for the programme also go to David McMillan, Reilly Smith, and Todd Kubrak, in addition to Mock.
In addition to Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, and Evan Peters, executive producers Murphy, Brennan, Mock, and Franklin. Executive Director of Color of Change, Rashad Robinson, also holds the position of Consulting Producer. On September 21, Netflix will debut DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
Synopsis
To put it simply, Jeffrey Dahmer was a serial killer who, between 1978 and 1991, murdered seventeen people. The murders committed by one of America’s most known serial killers—and the systemic racism and institutional failings of the police that allowed him to operate freely for nearly a decade—are the focus of the documentary series DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
