Robert Patrick Joins the Cast of ‘1923,’ a ‘Yellowstone’ Prequel, Release Date, Synopsis & More

The Taylor Sheridan universe now includes the T-1000. According to Deadline, Robert Patrick will join Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren in the Yellowstone prequel series 1923 as a regular cast member. In the series set during Prohibition, he will not portray a Dutton family member but rather a trusted associate of the Duttons. Beginning in December, a brand-new Dutton family will be available on Paramount+. Set to take place between the foundational years of 1883 and the present, the Kevin Costner-led era in Yellowstone, 1923 will cover an important chapter in the Dutton family’s history. The Dutton family struggles to survive as the Great Depression, pandemics, and catastrophic drought all threatened Montana in the 1920s.

It will focus on Jacob (Ford) and Cara (Mirren), the father and matriarch of the Yellowstone ranch. Patrick is now on board as Sheriff William McDowell, probably to assist the Dutton family in their fight against the scourge of livestock thieves and outlaws plaguing Montana. In addition to Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Julia Schlaepfer, and Brandon Sklenar, the cast now also includes Patrick.

The series was developed by Sheridan and executive and produced by him together with John Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, and Ben Richardson. He hasn’t been short on major parts, but “The Terminator 2: Judgement Day” T-1000 is where Patrick’s name is most synonymous with fame. Many times during his career, particularly in Last Action Hero, he has assumed the role of the scary terminator. It’s almost appropriate that Patrick should don the outfit once more in 1923, but this time as a friend rather than a foe to the Duttons. Patrick’s resume also includes films like Wayne’s World and What Josiah Saw as well as TV shows like The Protégé and The Faculty and movies like The Marine, which starred John Cena and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Goliath, the new Perry Mason, and his role as Auggie Smith in Peacemaker have all helped to bring him back into the spotlight.

He co-stars with Byron Mann in the upcoming film Dark Asset. Under preparation for its December debut on Paramount+, the film 1923 is now in production in Montana. But before that occurs, on November 13 AMC will premiere Season 5 of the original series.
