In a preview for Netflix’s upcoming dark comedy, Do Revenge, Sophie Turner plays a villain. Yes, it is a bit unusual to watch her in a part that isn’t Sansa Stark, and yes, she is perfectly killing the job. As her classmates look on in disgust, Turner’s character Erica insists that she doesn’t “even use cocaine” before being dragged away, presumably to treatment. Camila Mendes’s character, Drea, is one of the kids who seem to have set up Erica in a, well, act of retribution. The narrative revolves around Drea and her new friend Eleanor plotting revenge, as the title indicates (Maya Hawke).
Drea’s high school life has become a living hell because of a topless photo she sent to her boyfriend, Max (Austin Abrams), which has since gone viral. Meanwhile, new student Eleanor has had her image damaged after being accused of forcing a kiss on Carissa (Ava Capri). The two females, who have been victimised on a regular basis by their fellow pupils, conspire to exact revenge by committing separate acts of violence. Tomorrow, the movie will be a huge hit on Netflix, thus the last day of advertising has been very fruitful. You can see the trailer below, and Netflix’s Twitter page also shared three photos of Sarah Michelle Gellar in her role as the school’s Headmaster.
After playing a prep school student in Roger Kumble’s 1999 lust-filled classic, Cruel Intentions, the actress who played Buffy the Vampire Slayer has come full circle. Her character became a guidance counsellor in the show’s final season. Both Hawke and Mendes have become instantly recognisable to audiences because of their roles in the critically acclaimed television shows Stranger Things and Riverdale, respectively. We’ll miss seeing Mendes in her role as the wise Veronica Lodge on Riverdale, but we can’t wait to see what else she does in the future.
In addition to her starring and executive producing roles in Gulfstream Pictures’ upcoming rom-com Do Revenge, she will shortly feature in another film from the company. Upgraded. After the completion of Season 4 of Stranger Things, Hawke can look back on an extraordinarily fruitful tenure. Hawke is not only getting ready for the last season of the programme, but she is also pursuing a music career, having just released an “X-rated” music video for her tune “Thérèse.” Turner was last seen in The Staircase, a miniseries on HBO Max that portrayed the story of Kathleen Peterson’s mysterious death. Do Revenge will debut on September 16th.
