Ralph Fiennes’ New Film, “The Menu,” Release Date, Synopsis & Cast Details

A new poster for The Menu has been released by Searchlight Pictures on Twitter today, giving moviegoers something to ponder. The star-studded horror comedy, which has been cooking since October and will be served on November 18, has the likes of Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, Hong Chau, Janet McTeer, Judith Light, and John Leguizamo. In today’s shot, viewers can get a glimpse of the film’s main characters as well as a few supporting cast members as Tyler (Hoult) prepares to sample a dish prepared by Fiennes’s character, Chef Slowik. Tyler’s girlfriend Margot (Taylor-Joy) and the other characters all seem to be staring ahead of them at the table, while Tyler appears to be taking in every aspect of the meal.

Chef Slowik stands menacingly with his hands clenched behind the sitting couple, waiting to be lauded for the experience he has created with his cooking. Painstakingly Prepared.” is written at the top of the poster. Alluding to the scary elements of the film, “Brilliantly Executed.” Taylor-Joy and Hoult play a couple in The Menu who take a trip to an isolated island just to eat at Hawthorne, one of the most prestigious restaurants in the world. Slowik, a well-known chef, is in charge, and he is known for his meticulous preparation of elaborate dishes that his diners will never forget. From the looks of the video, the patrons of the restaurant are getting more than they bargained for as things take a dark turn. At this year’s Fantastic Fest, which will be hosted in Austin, Texas at the Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar from September 22nd through the 29th, a film called The Menu that pokes fun at the culture of food and the people who spend a fortune on elaborate dinners will have its world premiere.

It’ll be featured there along with other highly awaited movies including The Banshees of Inisherin (with Colin Farrell), Blood Relatives (on Shudder), and Medusa Deluxe (from A24), which is a murder mystery. Seth Reiss and Will Tracy penned the script for Mark Mylod to direct; he hasn’t helmed a feature picture since 2011’s What’s Your Number. Both authors have contributed humorous pieces to the satirical news website The Onion. Mylod and Tracy will be reuniting for the film after working together on the script for the HBO series Succession. Adam McKay and Betsy Koch, of Hyperobject Industries, will be the producers.
Enjoy the poster below as you wait for The Menu, which opens in theatres on November 18.
