The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen Release Date
During a recent event in Japan (H/T Crunchyroll(opens in new tab)), it was announced that the 2nd season of Jujutsu Kaisen will premiere in 2023. It might premiere in either the Winter (January–March 2023), Spring (April–June 2023), or Fall (September–December 2023) release dates for anime (starting October 2023). If we had to anticipate, we would say that a release in the fall of 2023 is the most likely scenario. Animation studio MAPPA has also worked on Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and Attack on Titan, and they have a new show called Chainsaw Man coming out in the near future.

And starting in October 2023, they’ll have plenty of time to produce a second season that lives up to their ridiculously high expectations. On September 18 we’ll know for sure. In a TV special airing on that date, “new information” regarding the upcoming second season will be disclosed.

What parts of season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen’s plot might be used?
Death Painting Arc (Chapters 55–64 in the Manga) marked the end of the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen. The Gojo’s Past Arc, which spans chapters 65-79 in the manga, may be adapted next if this anime follows the manga’s release schedule. That’s about a mission Gojo and Geto did in the past, where they escorted a Star Plasma Vessel to Tengen. If that’s the case, Season 2 may be a jigsaw of flashbacks to Gojo’s history, while also building up the season’s big next narrative, the Shibuya Incident.

We won’t give anything away, but the plot of the Shibuya Incident Arc is Gojo & his new cursed alliance sealing away Goto. There are plenty of stories there to fill a second season’s worth of episodes, and that seems like the most likely outcome. The conclusion of the first season might be a clue as well. Yuji & Nobara reunite with Megumi after their victory over the Cursed Wombs Eso and Kechizu. Instead, Sukuna swallows the finger & takes a little but significant step toward restoring his strength.

And with the third member of the Cursed Womb trio, Choso, joining forces with established series antagonists Geto and Mahito, Season 3 promises to deal with a plethora of new evils.
Another issue at Jujutsu High is that there is a mole and that the school’s instructor, Utahime, is actively looking for the treacherous sorcerer. The following season will likewise focus heavily on it. Season 2 ends with Gojo inviting Yuji, Megumi, & Nobara to take part in a new mission after they’re recommended for advancement to Grade 1 Sorcerers.

Can I skip Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen if I don’t see the movie first?
As the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film is a prelude to the main series, we think it’s great, but it’s not required viewing. Yuta Okkotsu, a swordsman, is the main character of the film and, in light of spoilers, will grow in importance throughout the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. You should check out the manga series in which he stars because he is one of its most well-known characters. An additional sequence plays out after the credits roll, and it serves as a prologue to what will happen in the anime.

It centres on Yuta’s return to Japan and integration into the main series; nevertheless, it is not known currently if he will appear in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2. Seeking it out is also a good idea if you’re a completist since it adds depth to the world and the curse-heavy premise of the universe while also telling a gripping narrative. It’s probably not essential, so you may skip it if you’re really pushed for time, but we highly recommend it.

Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen: Where to Watch Online?
The whole first season of Jujutsu Kaisen can be viewed in its entirety right now on Crunchyroll if you want to get caught up before the 2nd season premieres.
