It’s like The Mysterious Benedict Society has returned to school, only there is no school. The world’s brightest youths have already banded together to foil Ledroptha Curtain’s (Tony Hale) ambition to take over all humanity; now they must team together once again to save Nicholas Benedict (also Tony Hale). A new teaser for Season 2 and the news that it will premiere in late October on Disney+ were both announced today. A preview shows that There’s a long way to go before the Mysterious Benedict Society can bring down Mr Curtain’s towering ego.
The evil doppelganger of Mr Benedict has no option but to unveil his mind-invading apparatus and market it to the public as a technology that can produce happiness now that the youngsters have uncovered his big plot. His brother is kidnapped hostage in a part of his new strategy that catches him off guard. In keeping with his secretive nature, Mr Benedict has left the children a series of puzzles that, when solved, may provide clues as to where he is being held, hostage. The youngsters get together to investigate, but they quickly learn that Mr Curtain plans to abduct them as well, as they have shown to be his only formidable opponents. Inspired by Trenton Lee Stewart’s best-selling novel series, The Mysterious Benedict Society is a hit on both the small and big screens.
A four-season arc for the plot is not out of the question if the Disney+ programme follows the volume pattern. Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay, who also collaborated on ‘Flux (2005), ‘Titans (2010), and ‘The Invitation’ (2015), are responsible for the creation of the series. Former collaborators on hero-centric shows like Smallville, No Ordinary Family, Alphas, and Shadowhunters, Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin are at the helm of The Mysterious Benedict Society. Emmy DeOliveira plays Kate Wetherall, Mystic Inscho plays Reynie Muldoon, Marta Kessler plays Constance Contraire, and Seth B. Carr plays George “Sticky” Washington in The Mysterious Benedict Society. Tony Hale plays the title role.
On October 26, Disney+ will debut the second season of The Mysterious Benedict Society with two episodes.
Synopsis
After learning that Mr Benedict and Number Two have been abducted, the youngsters embark on a dangerous treasure expedition designed by Mr Benedict in an attempt to foil Curtain’s newest plot. This endearing band of misfits travels the world by air, land, sea, and pie truck, using only their wits, intelligence, and empathy to solve mysteries and save their missing friends. The youngsters learn to navigate their new “found family” while still holding onto their own identities. They learn the meaning of happiness via this experience.
