The Umbrella Academy has been picked up for a final season by Netflix. Steve Blackman’s The Umbrella Academy is based on the landmark graphic novel series by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá and tells the tale of a group of foster super siblings who must learn to cope with the psychological fallout of a life spent combating crime. Since the pilot episode, the group known as The Umbrella Academy has had to face the perils of time travel as the world is repeatedly altered despite their best efforts to correct previous errors.
The family travels through time in Season 3 only to find themselves in another universe where they were never born. Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore), their foster father, instead adopted a new group of youngsters with special abilities and founded the Sparrow Academy. Many people on both the Umbrellas and the Sparrows die in battle during the third season. All that effort, however, may have been for nought, as the foster family soon learns that they were only pawns in a larger game Sir Reginald has been playing to construct an alternate reality in which he rules. All the siblings have been rendered helpless in this new world and must learn to adjust accordingly.
It’s easier said than done, but in the season 3 finale, the crew chooses to stop trying to save the world and start living normal lives. Season 4 is the series finale, so we’ll find out how the Hargreeves children deal with their father’s perilous time manipulation game and whether or not they are able to overcome him. Tom Hopper as Luther, Robert Sheehan as Klaus, David Castaeda as Diego, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison, Aidan Gallagher as Five, Elliot Page as Viktor, and Ritu Arya as Lila Pitts are all returning for Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy.
Whether or whether the Sparrows will join the HArgreeves in Season 4 is still up in the air. Season 3 saw the formation of the Sparrows squad, which included Marcus (Justin Cornwell), Fei (Britne Oldford), Sloane (Genesis Rodriguez), Jayme (Cazzie David), Alphonso (Jake Epstein), and their own version of Ben (Cazzie David) (Justin H. Min), You can now see all of Seasons 1-3 of The Umbrella Academy on Netflix.
