Since the announcement of Insidious 5, horror fans have been gearing up for a return to “The Further.” Now that production on the sequel has concluded, viewers will finally be able to see it. Dagmara Dominczyk, an actress and the wife of the film’s director and actor Patrick Wilson, tweeted the good news. In 2010, James Wan and Leigh Whannell debuted their first Insidious film. Wilson, Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins, and Andrew Astor starred as the Lambert family who is haunted by demons from the dark world of “The Further” when Wilson’s character, Dalton (Simpkins), falls into a coma.
After centring on the Lambert family for the first two instalments, the franchise shifted to prequels and spin-offs for the third and fourth features. Despite the fact that Wilson, Byrne, and Simpkins only appeared briefly in the fourth film, Insidious: The Last Key. Now, all four of the original Lamberts are coming back for Insidious 5. While details on the narrative of the sequel have yet to be revealed, it is known that it will take up as the Lambert family gets ready to send Dalton (Simpkins) off to college.
To admirers who were afraid they had seen the last of the Lamberts, the family’s reappearance is a big relief. It would be disappointing if the series did not return to them. Dominczyk posted a selfie of the pair with the caption: After six weeks of (false) blood, sweat, and tears, I finally get him back. I’m happy for @patrickwilson73 that he directed a movie (and killed it), but man, oh man, we’ve missed him. #thatsawrap
With production on Insidious 5 being complete, Wilson and his loved ones have much to rejoice over. Actor Wilson has decided to make his comeback to the franchise even more memorable by making his directing debut with this horror picture. And if she says so himself, he “killed it.” Iconic horror filmmaker and director of the first two films, James Wan, is producing with Jason Blum and Leigh Whannell. Scott Teems, an author of Halloween Kills, penned the script for the picture, and Whannell, who has written every other entry in the Halloween series, was credited with the plot. The release date for Insidious 5 is set for July 7, 2023.
