Thor: Love and Thunder, the newest instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will be available to stream on Disney+ on September 8. The plot of the film revolves around Thor (Chris Hemsworth) setting off on a quest of self-discovery before an alien menace intervenes. The return of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster and her introduction as Mighty Thor make Thor: Love and Thunder a watershed film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Portman appeared in both Thor and Thor: The Dark World as the superhero’s girlfriend, and she returned for a brief cameo in Avengers: Endgame. At San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, it was revealed that she will be making a comeback as a key character. With a worldwide total of approximately $700 million, the film is one of the top 10 highest-grossing films of 2022 thus far. After a huge increase in ticket sales for this Marvel spinoff thanks to Waititi’s tonal shift in Thor: Ragnarok, he was called back to film another instalment. Disney+ Day will debut a number of new shows and movies, with Thor: Love and Thunder serving as the event’s centrepiece.
The event is a celebration of the studio’s history, and it features unique events and activities in Disney parks, as well as screenings of some of the studio’s most beloved films. This year, Disney+ will also coincide with D23, the definitive Disney event when new projects and announcements from the Mouse House are made public for the first time. Thor: Love and Thunder arrive on the streaming platform more than two months before the theatrical release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is great news for anybody who wants to catch up on the MCU at home before seeing the fourth and final chapter in Phase 4.
Love and Lightning in Thor Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Taika Waititi, Russell Crowe, Jamie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, and Karen Gillan are among the other actors featured in the film. On September 8th, Disney+ will debut the romantic comedy Thor: Love and Thunder.
