Warner Bros. Entertainment has confirmed that the animated feature DC League of Super-Pets will be released on digital platforms on August 23, while the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD versions are slated to be released on October 4. The film’s premium digital ownership will cost $24.99, while a 48-hour PVOD rental will cost $19.99. The 4K Ultra HD edition of the film costs $49.98, while the Blu-ray costs $39.98 and the DVD costs $34.98, respectively. The film’s home video release includes a how-to-draw instruction of Krypto, a featurette on the film’s voice actors, and deleted sequences. The World of Super-Pets,” “Super-Pets Animation 101,” and “Find the Easter Eggs” are all extras. The summer release of the DC League of Super-Pets was met with mostly good reviews from critics. The film has a 73% fresh rating on the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.
However, the site’s audience rating for the picture was 87% higher, indicating that it performed better with casual viewers. With a budget of under $90 million, the film’s $130 million in worldwide box office earnings are impressive. Audiences will soon be able to rewatch their favourite moments from the film in the comfort of their own homes, as the picture is coming to both digital and physical media. Dwayne Johnson (Moana) and Kevin Hart (The Secret Life of Pets) provide their voices to the roles of Krypto the Super-Dog and Ace, respectively. Johnson and Hart previously worked together in films including Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Central Intelligence.
Johnson not only stars in the animated family flick, but he also makes a brief cameo in the DC League of Super-Pets and will return to the DC brand later this year as the eponymous Black Adam. The cinematic adaptation of the comic book flies into theatres on October 21. The theatrical showing of DC’s League of Super-Pets has started.
