Fans witnessed the beginnings of Uta and Luffy’s friendship and the birth of Luffy’s desire to join the pirates in the previous episode. The most recent instalment is called “A Pledge for the New Genesis!” In Luffy and Uta!, our heroes evade a Sea Monster while making a pact to start again with their best buddy.
Recap: Just what occurred the last time?
In Episode 1029 of One Piece, the Red Hair Pirates visited Foosha Village and met Uta and Shanks, where they were introduced to a young Luffy, who soon took a liking to Shanks and the pirate lifestyle. The episode also highlighted the friendship that developed between Luffy and Uta, who encouraged one another to follow their aspirations.

All in One Uta and Shanks began Episode 1030 by discussing Luffy’s risky antics. Makino complimented Uta for playing with Luffy, but Uta explained that she was just attempting to protect Shanks from Luffy, who was adamant about becoming a Red Hair Pirate. Just then, Luffy showed up to do that same thing, pleading with Shanks to let him tag along. Uta promptly persuaded Luffy to drop her father and join her for some oceanside frolic. After the two youngsters had gone, Makino inquired of Shanks as to the impending departure of his group from Foosha Village. Shanks said they would depart shortly but come back to continue playing with Luffy and Uta.
As the grownups conversed, Luffy and Uta raced each other on a boat. They were forced to turn back because the island they were rowing towards was actually a huge sea monster waiting to devour them. The moment the kids were out of harm’s way from the sea monster, Uta began making fun of Luffy for being frightened. This prompted the small boy to vow that he would never be defeated again if he became a pirate. After asking Luffy why he wanted to be a pirate, Uta told him about her own ambition to travel the globe with Shanks while writing songs with the power to affect positive social change. She discussed her desire to usher in a joyous New Genesis for everybody. Despite his incompetence, Luffy pledged to assist establish a New Genesis. Following this, One Piece Episode 1030 depicted the day that the Red Hair Pirates left Foosha Village. Luffy tried to sneak aboard, but Uta uncovered him, at which point Uta promised to assist Luffy and convince Shanks that he was stronger the next time they met.
Luffy assured his companions that he would one day become a powerful pirate before saying farewell. Following the Red Hair Pirates’ departure from the Village, Luffy spent every day watching the horizon for their ship. Luffy had to wait a long time before he saw the ship again on its way to Foosha Village. The little lad ran up to the ship, full of curiosity about Uta’s new experiences, only to be told by Shanks that Uta had been left behind. After hearing this, Luffy grew depressed and left, abandoning a distraught Shanks on the Foosha Village pier. Many fan-favourite characters from the last 12 years made appearances in Episode 1030 of One Piece, including Sanji, Usopp, Nami, Garp, and Sengoku. Everyone was reading about how Shanks had obliterated Elegia Island for the sake of “Tot Music.” Sengoku was upset with Shanks’ behaviour and speculated that Roger cried as a result. Back in Foosha Village, Beckman implored Luffy to forgive Shanks. Unfortunately, Luffy’s temper only flared more when Beckman likewise refused to disclose Uta’s fate. The young man had gone back to the spots where he and Uta had spent so much time together playing, but unfortunately, two bandits were waiting for him there. Luffy, despite being severely injured, stayed and fought with the robbers in an effort to prove his mettle. Beckman came to his rescue in the end by distracting the two robbers from his Conqueror Haki. With Luffy insisting he only wanted to get stronger, Beckman ended up carrying him all the way back to Foosha Village.
After Luffy recovered from his wounds, he returned to Makino’s bar in Episode 1030 of One Piece to make his crew membership request to Shanks. It was the conviction in Luffy’s eyes this time that made Shanks think about letting him join his crew. The show then cut back to the current day, when Uta’s live performance was requested by the Straw Hat crew from Luffy. Even though Luffy couldn’t place his childhood friend’s name, he informed his crew that they had to go see her perform in Elegia. On Elegia Island, Uta was practising for her impending concert and discussing her hope of establishing a world where only music exists and no one had to suffer. Even though she had chosen to put Shanks out of her mind, she still had resentment at him for abandoning her. With both Luffy and Uta growing immensely during the episode, as well as the moment when Luffy’s determination was created, One Piece Episode 1030 was an emotional and healthy trip. Shanks’s emotional state after losing Uta was vividly shown in this episode. In time, Luffy came to appreciate the sentiments of the grizzled pirate.
