Cast Expansion for Chris Pratt’s “Garfield” Includes Hannah Waddingham, Nicholas Hoult, and More, Synopsis, Release Date & Cast Details

The announcement earlier this year that Samuel L. Jackson will be joining Chris Pratt in the next Garfield animated picture sent shockwaves around the internet. It’s time to start again once more. The voice cast has expanded to include Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Hannah Waddingham, and Cecily Strong. On February 16, 2024, moviegoers will be able to see the next Garfield movie adaptation. The film will be based on the popular comic strip character established by Jim Davis in 1978. Since Bill Murray starred in two live-action Garfield films in the 2000s, this will be the first theatrical film based on the character.

Mark Dindal, director of The Emperor’s New Groove, will helm the picture from a story written by David Reynolds, who also penned Finding Nemo. The movie’s storyline is a closely guarded secret. The Mission: Impossible films made Rhames a household name, and he was nominated for an Emmy for his performance. His contributions to films like Pulp Fiction and Con Air, as well as the long-running television series ER, have also garnered him many accolades.

He has voice acting skills from Disney’s Lilo & Stitch and the forthcoming Wendell & Wild on Netflix. Hoult has just been nominated for an Emmy for his role in The Great, a highly praised series that can be found on Hulu. His most prominent cinematic roles have been in Mad Max: Fury Road, Warm Bodies, and the X-Men movie produced by FOX. His upcoming filmography includes roles with Anya Taylor-Joy in The Menu and Nicholas Cage in Renfield. Waddingham won an Emmy for her performance in the critically acclaimed AppleTV+ comedy series Ted Lasso, which has been credited as launching her career.

Series like “Game of Thrones” and “Sex Education” both featured her in recurring roles. Her next big role will be in the sequel to Hocus Pocus. Her 10 years on Saturday Night Live as a cast member are what really made Strong famous. She has been nominated for two Emmys, and she recently starred in the AppleTV+ musical comedy Schmigadoon. She has also performed in movies including Ghostbusters and The Boss. Davis, Craig Sost, and Bridget McMeel of Andrews McMeel Entertainment will serve as executive producers for the upcoming project. In addition to Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson of Alcon Entertainment, John Cohen and Steven P. Wegner will take on producing duties.
On February 16, 2024, it will be released in cinemas.
