The voice actors for Disney’s upcoming animated series Firebuds have been revealed. Padma Lakshmi, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Pamela Adlon, Melissa Rauch, Oscar Nuez, and José Andrés have all been confirmed as guest stars in the next series, according to Variety. Craig Gerber, who also made Elena of Avalor and Sofia the First for Disney, is responsible for Firebirds. The story of the musical revolves around a group of childhood friends whose parents are emergency responders. The kids team up, just as their parents did, and go on all sorts of adventures with their trusty talking car companions.
In the process of doing so, they want to be of service to their community while also gaining insight into what it means to be a hero. Chef Pavani will be voiced by Lakshmi, Latch will be played by Yankovic, Principal Kagan will be played by Adlon, and Beth Bayani will be voiced by Rauch. The voice of Chef Fernando will be provided by Nuez, and Chef Al will be spoken by Andrés. The voice cast also features Lily Sanfelippo as Axl, Caleb Paddock as Piston, and JeCobi Swain as Jayden in addition to Vivian Vencer as Violet, Lou Diamond Phillips as Chief Bill Bayani, Yvette Nicole Brown as Chief Faye Fireson, and JeCobi Swain as Jayden. Lisa Loeb, Patton Oswalt, Nat Faxon, Ali Stroker, LaChanze, Aimee Carrero, Natalie Morales, Allison Case, Atticus Shaffer, Lauren “Lolo” Spencer, and Tatiana Lee are among the other voice actors. Norma Sepulveda, Jeremy Shipp, Krystal Banzon, Leanna Dindal, and Alyssa Stratton are all members of the Firebird’s writing staff.
Two directors, Kris Wimberley and Julius Aguimatang work under Robb Pratt, who serves as the show’s supervisor. Other members of the creative team include narrative editor Matt Hoverman, art director Francis Giglioas, composer Frederik Wiedmann, and lyricist Beau Black. The show is co-created by Disney Television Animation’s Craig Simpson. Firebirds is an exciting new addition to Disney Junior’s portfolio for younger children, much like the other programmes they have. It’s up there with the likes of PJ Masks, Mira Royal Detective, and Spidey & His Amazing Friends.
Parents and kids alike have a lot to look forward to in this new series, thanks to the efforts of a creative team that has previously worked on a wide variety of children’s shows.
Gerber has previously told The Hollywood Reporter: “Characters in “Firebuds” are encouraged to put the needs of others before their own. Similarly to how our protagonists’ offspring are striving to tread in their parent’s footsteps, we hope that our story will encourage young readers to follow in the footsteps of our heroes by being active members of their communities and assisting those in need. It’s the ideal way to kick off the next phase of my career with Disney, and the programme has a lot of personal significance for me.” The launch of Firebuds is scheduled for Wednesday, September 21 on Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Disney+.
