Now is your opportunity to see inside Oliver Putnam’s (Martin Short) head or check out Alice’s (Cara Delevingne) Third Arm Gallery. An interactive pop-up featuring shocking revelations from the second season of Murders in the Building will be available for a limited time only. The two-day event will take place in New York City on August 19 and 20, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on both days, and will feature tours of various locations featured in the show, such as the fabulous and historic Arconia and the Pickle Diner, where Bunny Folger (Jayne Houdyshell) spent her last day alive. Guests will first enter a setting designed to resemble the Third Arm Gallery from the show, complete with reproductions of iconic works such as Bunny’s Rose Cooper painting and Mabel’s (Selena Gomez) mural.
Not only does it have a gallery of series allusions, but it also has hidden passages like the Arconia. Images of the Arconia, a carton of gut milk, and the sculpture of Mabel that Bunny smashed with an axe are all included in the layout, but the inclusion of Bunny’s closet, where she presumably concealed the elevator that took her out of the Arconia, raises questions about the authenticity of the pop-up. Fans of Theo (James Caverly) and Mabel’s inquiry at Coney Island can locate small Easter eggs along the path to the bathrooms.
Attendees who are also talented painters will be able to contribute to Mabel’s mural of the Arconia, which will be displayed at the event.
The rendering shows that the mural lacks the colour it has in the series, but thanks to the activation provided by Gomez’s Rare Beauty, fans may contribute to its completion. When visitors to Charles’s (Steve Martin) art gallery are browsing, they can head to Charles’s (Steve Martin) residence to hunt for Easter eggs and clues in the foyer and kitchen (make sure to check the knife holder). There will be many photo ops, but the Bloody Mabel wall is where die-hard fans can show off their best cosplay.
The attraction also features an area devoted to Oliver and his love of dipping foods, complete with a picture booth themed like Oliver’s favourite deduction game, Son of Sam, and a reproduction of his residence. Everything from posters for his musicals (including his infamous failure Splash: The Musical) to Mrs Gambolini lounging in her enormous cage and a throne of belly milk fills his home. Even if Oliver is still stuck with the disgusting drink he received way back in Season 1, at least he can use it as a prop in his picture shoots. The final stop at the exhibition is the Pickle Diner and Bunny’s booth for some parting shots and the last chance to spot any clues the Only Murders crew may have overlooked.
Before the season finale on August 23, this is viewers’ last genuine chance to figure out what’s going on. Martin and John Hoffman’s murder mystery series has remained sharp until this point, maintaining a 100% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, despite having many loose ends to wrap up in the final two episodes and a slew of possible suspects that might have done Bunny in. The second season of Only Murders in the Building is available on Hulu, with the next episode coming out on August 16.
