According to Deadline, Kevin Costner, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sienna Miller, and Sam Worthington have all signed on to star in Horizon. Although he hasn’t directed a feature picture since 2003, Kevin Costner will not only appear in but also direct this historical epic set on the American frontier. We’ll be starting filming later this month. Pre- and post-Civil War growth and colonisation of the American West are claimed to be included in Horizon’s fifteen-year time frame.
The tale will examine the connections between the indigenous inhabitants of the American West and the European settlers who came to the region to claim it for themselves, as well as the perilous environment that existed before Europeans arrived. It has also been said that Horizon will kick off a trilogy. Miller is a well-known actress who has appeared in several films, including American Sniper, Foxcatcher, and Layer Cake. A recent Netflix drama, Anatomy of a Scandal, featured her as a lead character. Worthington will reappear in his role as Jake Sully in the upcoming sequel to the blockbuster film Avatar, which ten years after its release is still the biggest grossing film worldwide.
In addition, he was the main character in Under the Banner of Heaven, a Hulu crime drama that received high praise from critics. The two actors released statements on their casting, with Worthington adding, “I am incredibly delighted and humbled to start on this fantastic and vital adventure with Kevin, who is one of the industry’s finest and inspiring storytellers.” In continuation, Miller said “I can’t wait to go on this mammoth adventure under the direction of such a storied performer and filmmaker. We couldn’t put the book down. It’s an incredible privilege to take part in this.”
With the success of Dances with Wolves, Costner won the Academy Award for Best Director and the film was also named Best Picture. Horizon was adapted by Costner and Jon Baird. To make this picture, Costner not only starred in but also directed, wrote, produced, and funded it. This movie is being produced by Kevin Costner and Territory Pictures, and it will be distributed by Warner Bros. and New Line. Production on Horizon will start in Utah at the close of this month.
