Season 2 of ‘Yellowjackets’ welcomes Lauren Ambrose as adult Van, Cast, Release Date, Synopsis & More

In Yellowjackets Season 2, Van will have a much larger role. Today, Showtime announced two major changes for the character: Liv Hewson (Santa Clarita Diet), who portrays the younger version of the character, has been promoted to series regular, and Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) will play the adult version. The show’s main characters, a group of very gifted high school girls and soccer players who find themselves the only survivors of a plane crash in the harsh Canadian wilderness, will continue to be the focus of the series.

The launch of the 2nd Season is scheduled for the first few months of 2023. Van, the team’s goalie, is romantically involved with Taissa throughout the show (Jasmin Savoy Brown). Since we last saw Van in 2021, we know that Taissa became a state senator and had a kid, but in the upcoming season, fans will find out what became of her. In the last episode, Van participated in a strange wilderness tribute that would likely have lasting effects on her mature self. Ambrose’s role as Claire Fisher in the critically acclaimed HBO series Six Feet Under is what brought her the greatest fame.

She was nominated for not one but two Emmys because of her performance. She also guest starred in Torchwood and X-Files and starred in Dig on the USA. She is now featured in M. Night Shyamalan’s Apple TV+ series Servant. She starred in the films Wanderlust and Where the Wild Things Are and was nominated for a Tony Award for her portrayal in My Fair Lady. Creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson previously collaborated on The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals, as well as Netflix’s Narcos and Narcos: Mexico, and AMC’s Dispatches From Elsewhere, before teaming up on Yellowjackets. They received their first Emmy and WGA nominations for their work on the critically acclaimed Yellowjackets.

In addition to co-producing the programme alongside Jonathan Lisco, Lyle and Nickerson also serve as co-showrunners (Animal Kingdom). Melanie Lynskey (Castle Rock), Juliette Lewis (The Hateful Eight), Christina Ricci (Z: The Beginning of Everything), Tawny Cypress (Unforgettable), Ella Purnell (Sweetbitter), Samantha Hanratty (Shameless), Sophie Thatcher (Prospect), Sophie Nélisse (The Book Thief), Steven Krueger (The Originals), and Warren Kole are also featured in Yellowjackets (Shades of Blue). Season 2 of Yellowjackets has not yet been given a set premiere date by Showtime.
