Rob Zombie’s New “The Munsters” Poster Hints to a Creepy Love Triangle, Synopsis, Cast & Release Date

We assume that Jeff Daniel Phillips’ Herman Munster is a laid-back guy, but we can’t help but wonder how he’ll react to Rob Zombie’s most recent Instagram post. The director of the upcoming The Munsters origin film released a shot of Sheri Moon Zombie’s Lily Munster and her ex-boyfriend Orlock standing side by side. Orlock seems like he was taken straight out of a Nosferatu movie, what with the pointed ears, bald head, and hollow, black eyes. We have no idea who the actor behind the makeup is.

Lily is as beautiful and vibrant as ever with her signature asymmetrical hair colouration of half black and half white in the afterlife. As she and her ex-boyfriend look into the camera, her eyes light up. Trailers and today’s Instagram post suggest that Lily and Orlock’s romance didn’t provide the fireworks that the future Mrs Munster was hoping for. According to the teaser, Lily was quite dissatisfied with the match her father, The Count (Daniel Roebuck), had made for her when he introduced her to Orlock. Even if Lily may not like the Count’s pick for her future husband, he does not have any romantic feelings for this man.

In the preview, we see the zombie father trying to drive a wedge between Lily and Herman by calling his potential son-in-law a “bozo” who doesn’t deserve his daughter’s affection.
Whether or not her dad comes around, we all know that Lily and Herman will end up together in the end. This new take on the famous 1960s CBS comedy will highlight the couple’s determination to stay together despite overwhelming obstacles. Fans may expect to see the Munsters’ son Eddie (Butch Patrick) and Marilyn (Pat Priest), Eddie’s cousin and the star of the original series, in new roles for the movie. Cassandra Peterson, Richard Brake, Jorge Garcia, Catherine Schell, Sylvester McCoy, Dee Wallace, Tomas Boykin, Jeremy Wheeler, and many others will all make appearances in the film.

The original series was shown in black and white, but Zombie’s version will have a rainbow of colours, giving the production the feel of a live-action cartoon. The film’s PG rating is a departure for Zombie, whose previous works include the blood and guts of The Devil’s Rejects and House of 1000 Corpses, as well as his own adaptations of the Shape mythos in Halloween (2007) and Halloween II (2010). (2009). After its initial release on digital and Blu-ray on September 27th, the picture will then make its way to Netflix this autumn.
