With the release of Jurassic World: Dominion, which has been stomping to huge box office returns, Reebok has revealed that they would be returning to the series with a new range of dinosaur-inspired footwear fit for an excavator. The new line is rooted in prehistory while evoking the spirit of the modern Jurassic World films, in contrast to the previous collaboration between Reebok and Universal, which harkened back to the beginning of the franchise with a vibrant design reminiscent of the Ford Explorers of the original Jurassic Park.
In keeping with Dominion’s emphasis on science, each pair of sneakers is packaged in either an actual amber box or one “inspired” by amber. Each pair focuses on a different facet of the film, although none of them has the flashy colours and associated features of the Jurassic Park sneakers. In addition, the promotional images showcase the duos in settings that are consistent with their respective themes. The Answer DMX, which has a T. rex skin appearance, features the original logo and the words “Jurassic World” in the movie’s signature typeface. Meanwhile, the Classic Leather Ripple has a characteristic stripe along the sides, a name tag, claw marks, and an insect impression to honour Blue and Beta.
The sterile, research-focused ethos of the genetics industry is reflected in the black and white aesthetic of the LX2200 and Club C Revenge, with amber highlights for Biosyn. The Zig Kinetica 2.5s combine the colours of the Atrociraptors for a reptile aesthetic; the worn-out Nano X-2 Adventures are ideal for escaping free dinosaurs; and the Beatniks, which replicate the look of a fossil impression, round out the ensemble. The shoes are a part of a wider range of clothing for Jurassic World Dominion, which also includes activewear, streetwear, and graphic shirts. All eyes are on Blue, the breakout star of the new trilogy since most of the merchandise has either a print based on her scales or a dinosaur camo print.
Shirts include both the movie’s logo and a badge print restricted to approved Biosyn staff to demonstrate authenticity. The franchise concluded on a strange note in Jurassic World: Dominion. Many reviewers felt the Jurassic Park series had run its course and recommended the franchise be ended after this entry. Despite its flaws, the film has been a financial success, earning over $960 million worldwide. The film’s critical reception has improved after its dismal opening, and it currently has a 77% approval rating on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
The newest instalment, directed by Colin Trevorrow, brought back fan favourites Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum to join new heroes Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in their quest to restore order to a planet overrun by dinosaurs. In addition to Mamoudou Athie, the cast also included Scott Haze, Dichen Lachman, Daniella Pineda, Campbell Scott, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, Omar Sy, DeWanda Wise, and BD Wong.
