Due out on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and digital platforms in October is “Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind.”

Warner Bros. has officially confirmed the release date for Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind, the newest instalment in the animated movie series based on the popular fighting game genre. Release dates for the 4K UHD Blu-ray and digital versions of the upcoming third episode in the series starring the blind warrior Kenshi Takahashi are October 9 and October 11, respectively. In Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind, a young and arrogant warrior called Kenshi challenges the ruthless and ambitious Kano, who has made it his goal to subjugate all of Earthrealm.

Without bending the knee to the would-be conqueror, Kenshi loses his sight. Now that he has a magical sword and the guidance of Kuai Liang, Kenshi must rediscover his self-assurance in order to face Kano and win the fight that will rescue the world. The film will retail for $29.99 in the United States and $34.99 in Canada on 4K Ultra HD combo pack, $24.99 on Blu-ray+Digital in the United States, and $29.99 on Blu-ray in Canada, and $19.99 online.

Special Features on the Digital, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, and Blu-ray versions of the film include an in-depth look at adapting Kenshi for the big screen, an extended look at creating the Black Dragon Clan, deleted animatics, and an audio commentary from director Rick Morales and screenwriter Jeremy Adams. Adams returns to the franchise to compose the narrative for Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind, having done so for the previous two animated features, Scorpion’s Revenge and Battle of the Realms, all of which were directed by Morales.

Manny Jacinto of NBC’s The Good Place will play the film’s protagonist, Kenshi, while David Wenham will play the antagonist, Kano. Ron Yuan, Keith Silverstein, Courtenay Taylor, Yuri Lowenthal, Artt Butler, Imari Williams, Patrick Seitz, Sumalee Montano, Lei Yin, and Debra Wilson all voice characters in the animated film. Producers include Morales and Krieg, with Sam Register and Ed Boon (co-creator of the video game franchise) from NetherRealm Studios serving as executive producers. On October 9, Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind will be available digitally, and on October 11, it will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray.
