Ellen Pompeo will only appear in few episodes in 19th season of ‘Grey’s Anatomy, Release Date, Cast, Synopsis & More

Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital physician Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) has decided to reduce her work schedule. Entertainment Weekly reports that Pompeo will appear in only eight episodes during the upcoming 19th season of Grey’s Anatomy. The actress will maintain her role as executive producer for the show. Having joined the cast in 2005, Pompeo has become an integral part of the medical drama. So far, the show’s eighteen seasons have followed her from her days as an intern to her present day role as chief of general surgery.

Grey’s Anatomy “follows the personal and professional lives of surgical interns, residents, and attendings as they train to become seasoned surgeons.” The new season, which will debut on ABC on October 6, is ready to begin production. This is the first significant acting job for Pompeo since she starred as Meredith Grey on Grey’s Anatomy, so this is welcome news. Hulu has ordered a series starring Ellen Pompeo and Tom Everett Scott as a couple “who adopt an orphan they think to have a rare form of dwarfism, but start to fear their new daughter isn’t the 8-year-old she claims to be.”

The narrative of American couple Michael and Kristine Barnett and their adoptive “daughter” from Ukraine, Natalia, is adapted for television by Katie Robbins (The Affair). And in 2023, the actress’s hard work will be recognised as a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It’s ironic that the actress has never even been nominated for a Primetime Emmy. A lot of people are upset about this because they think Pompeo deserves more recognition and because she has carried the programme in many ways.

Other honours have been presented to the cast of the show, but she has been singled out for her work as Dr Meredith Grey, winning both a Satellite Award and two People’s Choice Awards. The interns played by Harry Shum Jr., Alexis Floyd, Niko Terho, Midori Francis, and Adelaide Kane will be the main focus of the upcoming season of Grey’s Anatomy. Since the Hospital lost its residency programme at the end of the previous season, viewers are curious as to how this plot will develop in the upcoming season. Likewise, both Dr Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Dr Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) will be back for the upcoming season. On Thursday, October 6, Grey’s Anatomy will air for the sixth season on ABC.
