The first season of Mayor of Kingstown, a Paramount+ series that examines the crooked side of the US legal system and its systematic racism, is coming to Blu-ray and DVD in September, with viewers getting access to all 10 episodes and over two hours of additional content. The series is written by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, who also created Yellowstone. It follows the McLusky brothers, Mike (Jeremy Renner, Hawkeye) and Kyle (Taylor Handley, Vegas), who are the top dogs in filthy Kingston, Michigan. When one dies in office, the other takes over as Mayor, and both of them are detectives for the Kingston police force.
The McLusky family tries to bring justice to a community that makes its money in the prison industry, and the show follows their journey. Dianne Wiest plays Miriam McLusky, the matriarch of the family, in Mayor of Kingstown. Kyle Chandler plays Mitch McLusky, the eldest brother, in the same MTV Entertainment and 101 studios production. All 13 uncut episodes from the first season are included in the Series’ three-disc Blu-ray or DVD versions, along with the following extra materials: There are featurettes on the making of each of the ten episodes, including Perdition: Marking of Mayor of Kingstown, Zero Sum Game: The Finale, Inside “Mayor of Kingstown,” Character Spots, and Cast Favorite Scenes.
The show was first announced in January of 2020; it aired on November 13, 2021, and ran through January 9, 2022. The majority of the show’s shooting locations were in and around Toronto, Ontario.
Since Yellowstone’s release on June 20, 2018, Mayor of Kingstown has been the streaming service’s most popular original scripted drama. In addition to Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, and Michael Friedman served as executive producers. This series has an MA rating, and episodes run anywhere from 47 minutes to 1 hour and 4 minutes in duration. Season 2 production started in February. However, whether or not it will be available before the year 2022 is up, remains unknown.
On September 27, 2022, fans will be able to purchase the Blu-ray and DVD versions of the critically acclaimed series, Mayor of Kingstown.
