Paramount+ has renewed iCarly for a third season on the streaming service, which is great news for iCarly fans. A cliffhanger ending Season 2 and the program’s sustained appeal to a new generation made it seem like a certainty that the show would return to explore the pair’s uneasy relationship and where it may go next. It was then followed by a new trailer featuring Josh Peck of Drake and Josh fame hyping up the life-changing news of the renewal. A release date for Season 3 has been scheduled for sometime in 2023, with production beginning later this year. iCarly premiered on Netflix in 2021, continuing up where Nickelodeon’s super popular programme left off. An older cast has reunited to bring back the online show that began it all, much like the first series did.
Every day, the gang has to cope with the crazy scenarios that come with being famous on the internet. Miranda Cosgrove plays titular protagonist Carly Shay, who is now doing her online show on her own after parting ways with former co-host Sam (Jeanette McCurdy). Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress), the show’s producer and a friend of Carly’s who works in technology, also shows up. Carly and Freddie’s romance was hinted at in Season 2 when Freddie’s girlfriend accused him of being in love with her. By adapting its comedy and plot to fit in with today’s online environment while maintaining a tone that was distinct from the original, the programme became an instant model for how to effectively reboot other shows.
Jaidyn Triplett’s Laci Mosley and Jerry Trainor’s Spencer have also welcomed additions to the ensemble, which also included Carly’s brother Spencer. “There is no doubt in Tanya Giles, chief programming officer of streaming for Paramount+’s Paramount+ streaming service, that the iCarly fan base has grown to adore Harper and Millicent as well as Carly, Spencer and Freddie. There is a growing interest for YA content on Paramount+ and we’re excited to have Miranda, Jerry, Nathan, Laci, and Jaidyn back for the third season.” For my part, I can’t wait to learn more about #Creddie!” As executive producers, Ali Schouten-Seeks (Young & Hungry, Diary of a Future President) and Cosgrove worked with Nickelodeon Studios to create the show for Paramount+.
Trainor, Kress, and Alissa Vradenburg are three of the show’s producers (The Simple Life). Dan Schneider was the brains behind the original Nickelodeon incarnation of iCarly. Season 3 of iCarly will launch in 2023, according to the network. On Paramount+, you may presently watch the first two seasons in their entirety.
