Harry Shum Jr. among the cast of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ for Season 19: Cast, Release Date, Synopsis & Everything you need to know

This week, Deadline announced that Grey’s Anatomy had welcomed Everything Everywhere All At Once actor Harry Shum Jr. as an additional cast member. Season 19 of the programme will feature him with actresses Alexis Floyd, Adelaide Kane, Midori Francis, and Niko Terho, who have all just been cast as fellow first-year surgical residents in training. According to rumours, he will portray Daniel “Blue” Kwan, a talented but eager young man.

He is a nice person, but he is also naturally talented and competitive to the point of obsession. His ambitions for the future were disrupted, however, by a family problem, and now there is much to prove. I am curious to see how the new stories of first-year residents are weaved into the show, given we witnessed Grey Sloan Memorial’s residency programme lose its accreditation at Season 18’s conclusion. As a result, numerous physicians have departed the hospital, leaving Meredith as the only one capable of saving it. “I do not know how this show ends at this time,” Kevin McKidd said in an interview with People earlier this year, despite speculation that Season 19 may be the final one. Adding to it, The problem with a medical drama is that, like other shows on television, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain interest as the plot or structure of the story becomes increasingly intricate.

There’s no limit to the stories that may be told in medical dramas because fresh patients are admitted to hospitals on a regular basis. That’s why it’s so difficult to see what the end will look like. The only thing we can tell you at this moment is that it’s bigger than any one of us. Glee’s Mike Chang and Magnus Bane on Shadowhunters and Hulu’s The LXD (Legion of Extraordinary Dancers), which he also produced, are two of Shum Jr’s most well-known roles. Along with Nina Dobrev and Jimmy O. Yang, he has appeared in Crazy Rich Asians and the Christmas blockbuster Love Hard.

Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, and James Pickens Jr., all long-time cast members of Grey’s Anatomy, will return for new episodes. There have been 38 Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Drama Series and a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series during the span of the show’s 18 seasons. On Thursday, October 6, Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 will premiere.
