Season 3 of ‘The Witcher’ has been put on hold after Henry Cavill was found to have COVID

The Witcher’s third season has apparently been put on hold when it was discovered that star Henry Cavill had tested positive for COVID during a drug test. Just before filming a major battle scene from the novels, work on Season 3 was abruptly halted by Redanian Intelligence, according to reports. In the past, pandemics have thwarted fans’ plans to return to Europe as swiftly as possible. There were delays in Season 2 production as well as its release in December 2021 because of the epidemic that struck in 2020. Season 3 has yet to be released.

For fans hoping to find out what happened to Geralt of Rivia (Cavill), Ciri (Allan), and Yennefer (Chalotra), the programme was in the middle of production at the time. Since reports regarding Cavill’s health are genuine, we should expect another extended break before Season 3 is released. Stars are frequently booked for other projects and cannot be made available outside of the previously established periods, thus extending a production schedule is no easy effort at all. Because The Witcher is presently one of Netflix’s most popular projects, every delay has an impact on thousands of people engaged, from actors to production staff members.

We haven’t heard anything from Netflix about this yet, but if Cavill is genuinely unwell, we hope he quickly recovers and returns to work.
First released in 2019, the Witcher rapidly became one of Netflix’s most popular original programming. It didn’t stop the series from spreading with spinoffs, even when there was a pandemic. The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, an animated film about Geralt’s tutor Vesemir, was published on Netflix in August of last year (Kim Bodnia). The Witcher: Blood Origin, a prequel set 1200 years prior to the events of the main series, is currently in production & will explore the realm during the “Conjunction of the Spheres.”

Elves’ realm was taken over by humans and other races after this historical event in The Witcher mythos; this was the beginning of a new era of inter-dimensional inter-relationships. During the third season of The Witcher, Andrzej Sapkowski’s five-book series, The Witcher Saga, will be adapted into the show. As Geralt and Ciri discover more about Ciri’s abilities, the story focuses on their relationship. Throughout the story, as various groups begin to chase Ciri, Geralt is forced to abandon his impartial stance regarding the politics of the continent. Still, no release date has been set for Season 3 of The Witcher or The Witcher: Blood Origins.
