To promote their new epic film Medieval, The Avenue has produced a teaser. Game of Thrones has increased the number of individuals who are interested in mediaeval stories with more than just swordfights, which is a good thing. While on a risky mission, one fighter is compelled to confront his own morality as his religious convictions and political allegiances collide. There is a sense of danger in Medieval’s trailer, which shows a bleak and dangerous world. Despite the fact that the job Jan ika (Ben Foster) is given – kidnapping an innocent woman who is also the niece of the French monarch – goes against his own beliefs, he does not hesitate to fulfil orders from his king.
A whole army is out to capture Jan ika for kidnapping such a high-profile member of the royal family. He will not be spared. When the vicious warrior falls in love with the woman who abducted him, things get much more difficult for him to complete his objective. Petr Jákl, a Czech filmmaker who previously starred in films like Eurotrip and AVP: Alien vs. Predator, is the director of Medieval. This is Jákl’s third film in which he serves as both director and screenplay — the first two were Kajnek and Ghoul. Til Schweiger (Inglorious Basterds), Roland Miller (Atomic Blonde), Matthew Goode (A Discovery of Witches), and William Moseley (A Discovery of Witches) round out the cast of Medieval (The Royals). On September 9, Medieval debuts in cinemas.
Summation of the plot
Jan ika, one of the greatest fighters in history, inspired this narrative. King Wenceslas of the Czechs and King Sigismund of Hungary fought for possession of the empty throne after Emperor Franz Joseph died. The Holy Roman Empire fell into turmoil. In order to prevent Lord Rosenberg (Til Schweiger) from gaining power alongside the corrupt King Sigismund (Michael Caine), Lord Boresh (Ben Foster) hires the brave and virtuous mercenary commander Jan Zizka to abduct Lady Katherine (Sophie Lowe), Lord Rosenberg’s (Til Schweiger) fiancée. No matter what happens, Jan thinks that the king is God’s right-hand man and should be honoured and followed.
Jan falls in love with Katherine’s strong spirit and determination to save the people as she is embroiled in a hazardous political game between the kings. With a rebel army, he fights back against the widespread corruption, greed, and betrayal amongst those vying for power in a valiant attempt to free her. Jan now understands that his love for Lady Katherine will determine the fate of the Empire and that his own destiny is not in the hands of Kings, but of his own people.
