At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel announced their next projects at their Hall H panel. The Black Panther sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, will round up Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which was revealed at their presentation. The initial trailer, pictures, and poster were all given to fans to enjoy. Additionally, Marvel has issued the official description for the film, which confirms much of what we saw in the teasers, including how the country of Wakanda mourns the death of its ruler and celebrates the late Chadwick Boseman’s memory.
This is the whole synopsis:
“The Dora Milaje, comprising Florence Kasumba (played by Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), and Okoye (Danai Gurira) struggle to defend Wakanda after King T’Challa’s death in Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”. With War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) helping the Wakandans accept their newest chapter, the heroes must join together and establish a new path for the country of Wakanda.”
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will introduce Tenoch Huerta as Namor, the ruler of a secret underwater kingdom, in addition to the characters listed above. Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Alex Livanalli, and Mabel Cadena round out the cast as Riri Williams/Ironheart. After directing and co-writing Black Panther with Joe Robert Cole, Ryan Coogler is back to directing this film. Critics and viewers alike hailed Black Panther when it premiered in 2018, and the film’s success was well-deserved. With a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars in 2019, it became the first superhero picture to win three Oscars, including best costume design.
Following in the footsteps of many Marvel films, the news of a sequel came as no surprise following the success of the first picture. In spite of this, Black Panther’s journey to this point has not been an easy one, as the production has had to deal with brief shutdowns and the tragic loss of star Chadwick Boseman. For those who haven’t seen Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it’s not the end of Wakanda. Earlier this year, a spin-off series was announced. Another Disney+ original will feature Okoye, a member of the Dora Milaje of Wakanda. Proximity Media’s programme will see Gurira reprising her role. On November 11, the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released in cinemas.
