Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed the end of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con panel. As a follow-up, attendees of the conference received exclusive information on the whole Phase 5 slate, which is now apparently included in The Multiverse Saga along with all of Phase 4. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, the fifth film in the Avengers series, was one of the films announced, and Marvel also revealed the film’s official release date. From animated programmes like What If…? to shows like Loki, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been expanding its impact through famous characters like Kang the Conqueror (Johnathon Majors). While speaking in Hall H, Feige announced that the fifth Avengers film will premiere on May 2, 2025, in theatres worldwide.
Phases 4 through 6 of The Multiverse Saga, the Kang Dynasty, are some huge news to drop with the title of the series. Fans first encountered Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the Season 1 finale of Loki on Disney+, where he appeared at the end of time, literally. He is accompanied by Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), a huge Loki variation with a big chip on her shoulder. Loki (Tom Hiddleston) fights Alioth the Void-consuming massive monster that guards the Kang Variant at the end of time.
A new Multiversal War is about to break out because Kang the Conqueror, He Who Remains, is guarding the Sacred Timeline against his fellow Variants who want it for themselves. A Multiversal War is scarcely mentioned in the What If…? series, and that’s a negative thing. Like in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, viewers got a glimpse of what might happen when other worlds are played with. If Kang gets involved, you can bet things will become crazy. In addition to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced a slew of other Phase 5 projects, including Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, which will star Kathryn Hahn as Wanda Maximoff’s (Elizabeth Olsen) antagonistic neighbour Agatha Harkness, and Captain America: New World Order, among other things. For those who can’t wait until May 2, 2025, to see Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in cinemas, they may start watching She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
