Hatred is a powerful emotion that is generally reserved for a small number of items or individuals. Even if commonplace annoyances like walking in gum, tripping on the ice, or missing a train are generally despised, only a select few people are universally despised. There are, however, certain exceptions to this rule. People like Adolf Hitler, who wreaked havoc on the world, are generally considered to be detested by everyone. Hunter Moore, the subject of a new Netflix documentary series called The Most Hated Man on the Internet, is expected to join the list of persons who are universally despised. Why? IsAnyoneUp.com was started by a self-described “professional life ruiner” in 2010. Although the name seemed simple enough, the content was anything but.
People’s private images were shared without their permission on the site. People’s privacy was violated in more ways than one, and the site became a magnet for the internet’s sleazier side. It quickly established itself as a hotbed of internet sexism and femme-bashing, much like sites like 4chan. Visitors to Moore’s website began supporting his work and his cult-like following began to grow. A Rolling Stone storey dubbed him the “Most Hated Man on the Internet” because of his infamy. That pattern of abuse on the site has been the foundation of this new docuseries, which aims to expose it.
Hunter Moore is going to face his own type of publicity for exposing many individuals against their will. The Most Hated Man on the Internet is a three-part docuseries that premieres in July 2022 and chronicles Moore’s rise to popularity and his eventual downfall. On the 27th of July, 2022, Netflix will release the first two episodes of a three-part miniseries titled The Most Hated Man on the Internet.
What is it About?
Over-exposure to Michael Moore might give him a false feeling of popularity and renown that he does not deserve. Fortunately, this series appears to avoid this. Instead of focusing on the criminal, the attention shifts to those who were affected by his actions. An individual mother’s quest to bring down Moore is the focus of the film After her daughter’s naked images were exposed online, she set out to bring down Moore’s revenge-porn enterprise. Exclusive interviews with other victims of Moore’s abuse will also be featured in the series. To get their content deleted from the site, several people waged a legal battle.
Law enforcement personnel who were involved in the case also provided their perspectives. When confronted with despicable actions and apparently insurmountable circumstances, individuals can come together and fight for what is right, even when it is an uphill struggle. Showcasing these tales proves that.
An official summary:
Refusing to let up, a mother takes on the heartless proprietor of a revenge porn website in an internet campaign to get her daughter’s images removed off the site.
Netflix’s collection has become awash in documentaries, and this series is no exception. Netflix has a long history of creating high-quality documentaries that are well-received by both consumers and critics. Netflix’s Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey, published in June 2022, is a current example of this lineage of documentaries. The limited series, directed by Rachel Dretzin and Grace McNally, focused on the polygamous Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints & its current leader, Warren S. Jeffs. ‘The Tinder Swindler,’ a documentary on con guy Simon Leviev, was released in February of 2022 and has since become a huge success on Netflix.
Documentaries like The Most Hated Man on the Internet, which tells Hunter Moore’s tale, should elicit many of the same emotions in viewers. No one else than Raw TV is responsible for the creation of The Internet’s Most Hated Person. If you have not heard of it, you soon will. Docuseries like Don’t F**k With Cats and more recently The Tindler Swindler has been produced by this production company. They both looked at how the internet and technology interface with sexism. That they’ve been chosen for The Internet’s Most Hated Man is no surprise. Alex Marengo and Adam Hawkins serve as executive producers on the three-part docuseries. When it comes to documentaries, Marengo’s credits include Bad Sport and Killer Ratings.
A battle for justice against all odds wrapped up in a realm of real-life and online wickedness was instantly apparent to me,” Marengo said of this most recent piece. Some people enjoyed it, while others lost everything. “I’m extremely proud of our team, which transformed Hunter Moore into the ultimate winner by giving his victims their voices, which had been hushed until now,” I said. It’s thrilling to know that Netflix will be airing this timely narrative to a worldwide audience when it begins.” He also appeared in Bad Sport, but Adam Hawkins is most recognised for his work on the Emmy-winning series Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy. In addition to Marengo and Hawkins, the series is also supported by a few more well-known figures. The director is Rob Miller. For his work on the Ratko Mladic war crimes trial documentary The Trial of Ratko Mladic, he is widely recognised. Filmmakers Vikki Miller and Nimira Velji, who worked on the documentary Convergence: Courage in a Crisis, are also in attendance. After working with Marengo and Hawkins on Bad Sport, Alice Duffy was hired as an assistant producer.
