This Halloween, the Solar Opposites are holding a special event! Rick and Morty and Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty) were on hand for their panel at SDCC on Thursday, where they revealed that Hulu’s favourite alien family will be celebrating Halloween with a new special. An all-new Halloween-themed special will air in the fall, following in the footsteps of last year’s special Christmas episode. Only the title and a brief synopsis of the new special are known at this time. The next episode, titled “A Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special,” is expected to follow the Solar Opposites as they learn about the deadliest human holiday and, perhaps, become afraid themselves.
In light of Korvo’s (Roiland) distaste for Halloween and the stress it causes him, the plot’s possibilities are nearly limitless in terms of how this subject may be handled. In addition to Tales of the Crypt’s John Kassir, SDCC attendees received a taste of the special. However, reading the logline does not provide many clues “Alien life can be creepy at times. Get ready for a Halloween treat from the Solar Opposites.” For those who like Roiland and McMahan’s prior work but we’re looking for a new perspective, Solar Opposites has been a hit on Hulu since its premiere in May 2020. As opposed to following the exploits of a space-faring human-like Rick Sanchez, the show focuses on a group of extraterrestrials stuck on Earth.
They just released Season 3 on the streaming service that chronicles their efforts to determine whether or not Earth is cool. Unlike Korvo and his replicant Yumyulack (Sean Giambro), the family’s leader, Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and his replicant Jesse (Mary Mack) are enamoured with the junk food, tv, and general frivolity of Earth and its people (Sean Giambrone, Sean Giambrone). They’re always trying to become less like a team and more like a family as they do it. “Pupa,” an adorable little slug that gets into all kinds of mischief and will one day transform Earth into a perfect substitute for the Solar Opposites’ planet Shlorp, is one of its supporting character members.
Tiffany Hadish played the Opposites’ ship’s A.I., Aisha, while Andy Daly, Christina Hendricks, Steling K. Brown, and Alfred Molina all appeared in the show’s notorious The Wall storyline, as well as a slew of other notable actors. The sitcom is executive produced by Roiland and McMahan, as well as Josh Bycel, the creator of The Big Show Show. Since the programme was extended for a fourth season over a year ago, the three will be spending some time with the opposites. Opposites fit well into a classic special structure, and a new one for an unidentified holiday is planned for Season 4 as well, according to the show’s writers.
Season 3 of Solar Opposites is now available on Hulu.
