In the upcoming thriller Stowaway, Ruby Rose (John Wick: Chapter 2) stars as a party girl who gets caught up in a boat theft after crooks take over her luxurious yacht. AMC published the official trailer for Stowaway today. The new film explains how Rose’s character Bella wound up with such a big boat and teases her battle for survival as the thieves head out to sea with her still aboard. On August 5, AMC+ will broadcast the picture, which has been compared to Die Hard and Panic Room. Bella’s life takes a positive turn when she hears from an old acquaintance (Captain America’s Frank Grillo) that her father bequeathed her a luxurious boat upon his death.
To make matters even better, she met a guy named Michael (Patrick Schwarzenegger, The Staircase) after a night of drinking to accompany her back to the boat. Just when you thought the trailer couldn’t get much worse, a bunch of masked criminals board Bella’s boat and begin to flee with her still aboard before taking a hard left turn into borderline terror. In addition, she is unable to swim, so Michael has left her on the boat while he swims for help. When then, it’s a battle for Bella’s life as she faces off against the criminals after they steal the boat. If their gear and the safes they discover on board are any indications, they’re chasing a unique boat.
However, as soon as Bella sends a distress signal to the coast guard, the chase is on to discover and eliminate her. As opposed to surrendering to her attackers, she decides to go full John McClane and take on the role of the hunted. There is a lot of tension as the coast guard tries to halt the boat heist while Rose goes for the mastermind. A tremendous flame will likely finish off the clip, leaving her boatless once again when the filming is done. Declan Whitebloom, who is making his feature directorial debut with Stowaway, wrote and directed the picture. Even though he has lack experience in the world of television and cinema, he’s been a mainstay in the music industry, directing music videos for musicians like The Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Little Big Town, and Demi Lovato.
In addition to the short film Blackbird, he also directed the documentary series Prophets of Science Fiction. For Ian Hayden, who authored the script Whitebloom directed, this is his first feature-length film. Aside from Rose and Schwarzenegger, the film also stars Scotty Bohnen (The Last Son), Danny Bohnen (She Walks The Woods), and Luis Da Silva Jr. (Fast Five, The Devil Goes Down). Having previously starred in action films like The Meg, John Wick: Chapter 2, and xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, Rose sees this as an opportunity to take the reins of a star-studded thriller. As of August 5, Stowaway will be available just through AMC+.
