Although HBO Max hasn’t announced the premiere date for The White Lotus, the streaming service has given viewers a taste of what is to come with a new sizzle reel for the series it’s currently airing. New and returning cast members are shown off in a quick teaser for House of the Dragon, which premiered this week with House of the Dragon and Westworld. Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) returns to the show, revealing that Greg (Jon Gries) and Greg’s burgeoning romance survived the first season and will continue in the second.
Tanya may be seen holding onto Greg’s hand as they travel to approach the resort on a motorbike. After that, the scene shifts to a stunning new spa in Sicily. Greeting her visitors, portrayed by Aubrey Plaza, Will Sharpe, Theo James and Meghann Fahy, is the new resort hostess Valentina, played by Sabrina Impacciatore. They prepare for a relaxed stay in the picturesque setting with some ice-cold beverages. But if Season 1 is any indication, the White Lotus won’t be a peaceful place for these lovers. F. Murray Abraham, Michael Imperioli, Adam DiMarco, Tom Hollander, Haley Lu Richardson, and Leo Woodall will all be appearing at the resort as part of the new season’s ensemble. Murray Bartlett, who helmed the Hawaii site in the previous season, has returned for the new season.
On their week in paradise at the resort, some visitors were watched, but things didn’t go according to plan for everyone. As their time at the resort progressed, the darker nuances of their situations and the resort itself began to emerge, revealing that life for these wealthy consumers and the smiling resort personnel that serve them isn’t so rosy. When it comes to the second season, we can expect an anthology focused on the lives and dramatic stories of new resort guests and employees from Italy. Aside from Bartlett and Coolidge, the first season of The White Lotus included Natasha Rothwell, Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, Jake Lacy, Brittany O’Grady, and Sydney Sweeney.
As a result of that star-studded cast and the brilliant writing that surrounded them, the programme was an instant smash with fans & critics alike, earning 20 Emmy nominations among many other television awards. Season 2 is shaping up to be a return to form for the series, thanks to White’s comeback and the arrival of an equally talented ensemble in Sicily. Gries’ return merely adds fuel to the fire of suspicion about Coolidge’s forthcoming position. Once again, their relationship may be put to the test while at the resort in question.
Later this year, the 2nd season of The White Lotus will premiere.
