Following the events of the first film, Dune: Part 2 will start up just where it left off. Timothée Chalamet, an Academy Award contender, will reprise his role as Paul Atreides, a Freman warrior on a crusade to avenge his father’s death and bring those responsible to justice.
In addition to Zendaya’s reappearance as Chani, she will have a more active role in the plot this time around. Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgrd, Count Glossu Rabban Harkonnen, Charlotte Rampling, and Stephen McKinley Henderson are all returning cast members. Elvis star Austin Butler has been hired as Feyd Rautha Harkonnen, while legendary actor Christopher Walken will represent Emperor Shaddam IV in the next film adaptation. In addition to Florence Pugh and Léa Seydoux, the cast also includes Souheila Yacoub. Villeneuve released a statement soon after Dune’s debut in October, announcing that the sequel had been approved: “I’ve just got confirmation from Legendary that ‘Dune: Part 2’ is now a reality. Fans, cast and crew, Legendary and Warner Bros. have all helped make my long-held ambition of adapting Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune’ into a reality “A statement from Villeneuve confirmed this.
