Surfside Girls, a family-friendly comedy about two best friends investigating paranormal events in their small California beach town, has debuted a new trailer for Apple TV+. Ancient evil and a cursed treasure are the focus of this teaser, which follows the girls as they try to unravel the mystery. They use their respective abilities of intellect and ingenuity to come up with a solution to save Surfside along the road.
Beginning on the 19th of August, fans may watch this breezy summer series on the service. It begins with a brief introduction to Sam (YaYa Gosselin) and Jade (Miya Cech), best friends from Surfside, New York, where they both live. Surfside is an ideal location for summer enjoyment, notably surfing, which both ladies participate in. Sometime later, when they’re sitting on the beach, they come across an old gold coin that washed up on the strand. Things begin to go awry in the community once the coin is found.
When the lights begin to flicker, the locals begin to feel worried, and the girls discover a new cave filled with a pirate ghost. Remy (Spencer Hermes-Rebello), their new spirit buddy, tells them that the treasure is definitely cursed and that if they don’t figure it out, an old evil will be released. Although the play is filled with mystery, hidden rooms, old symbols, and ships full of pirate spirits, the overall feeling is one of summer pleasure. Along the journey, the girls make new acquaintances and discover clues that help them get closer to uncovering the mystery.
The story is about the friendship between the two main characters, who couldn’t be more different, and how it keeps them going through the strange events that occur in Surfside. Surfside Girls is based on Kim Dwinell’s popular IDW comic book series of the same name. With Alex Diaz and Julie Sagalowsky Diaz serving as executive producers, May Chan serves as showrunner and co-created and co-executive produced this version of American Girl: Corinne Tan, which won a WGA Award for Best Adaptation of an Animated Series. America Young will direct and executive produce the first two episodes of the series (Roswell, New Mexico, Legacies).
Among the show’s executive producers were Paul Stupin (Switched at Birth, Dawson’s Creek), Lydia Antonini (Locke & Key, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn), and IDW’s Paul Davidson and Jeff Brustrom. For the summer months, Apple TV+ is adding a new live-action series to its lineup of original programming. It’s in the vein of shows like Hello Jack!, starring Jack McBrayer and Angela C. Santomero. For the first time ever, there will be a full slate of Peanuts specials and episodes on television, as well as a new feature film from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Wolfboy and the Everything Factory, from the Jim Henson Company.
On August 19, Surfside Girls will make their Apple TV+ debut.
