This Halloween season, Netflix is spicing things up with a slew of reinvented classics. According to Rob Zombie’s Instagram, The Munsters, the director’s much awaited film, will join Tim Burton’s The Addams Family spinoff series, Wednesday, on the streaming service. It’s the second time the two worlds have clashed, as Zombie pointed out in his article; in 1964-1965, the families were listed back-to-back. It’s been over 60 years since the two families battled it out for the top place in family-friendly monster movies, but now you can watch them both whenever you want on the platform! There is a lot to learn about Herman (Jeff Daniel Phillip) and Lily (Sheri Moon Zombierelationship )’s in the new The Munsters from director Zombie.
In an attempt to separate his daughter from the monster she’s chosen to spend the rest of her life with, Grandpa, nicknamed The Count (Dan Roebuck), will try to break them up, which will only serve to anger the worried dad even more. Besides Richard Brake, Sylvester McCoy, Jorge Garcia, Catherine Schell, Cassandra Peterson, Dee Wallace, Mr Gateman, and Tomas Boykin, the film will also feature Richard Brake as Dr Henry Augustus Wolfgang, Sylvester McCoy, Jorge Garcia, Catherine Schell, Cassandra Peterson, the voice of “Good Morning Transylvania,” Jeremy Wheeler, and Lester.
Pat Priest and Butch Patrick, two early cast members who may recall the original TV Guide press, will also feature in the show. In the episode airing on Wednesday, the series’ eponymous character, played by Jenna Ortega, will face the challenges of high school while improving both her psychic talents and her sarcastic humour. Throughout the series, the daughter of the Addams family will try to solve a long-running mystery that touches those she cares about back home.
In addition to Ortega, the cast includes Luis Guzmán as Wednesday’s father, Gomez Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Wednesday’s mother, Morticia Addams, Riki Lindhome as Dr Valerie Kinbott, Jamie McShane as Sheriff Donovan Galpin, Isaac Ordonez as Wednesday’s brother Pugsley, and Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems.. Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday in the ’90s gothic family flicks, will feature in an unspecified character in the new series, which is based on those films. Aside from debuting on television within a week of each other and focusing on a dysfunctional family, both The Munsters and The Addams Family were only on the air for two seasons in the 1960s before being cancelled.
Though they’ve been gone for years, both left such a lasting influence on the entertainment business that they’re still being credited with the introduction of new ventures. The Munsters, starring Zombie and Burton, will hit theatres sometime in September, but no precise date has been revealed for Zombie or Burton’s newest projects yet.
