Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, a rapper, actor, and producer, has agreed to join the cast of the upcoming horror flick Skill House, which pokes fun at our reliance on social networking. Hannah Stocking also joins 50 Cent in the cast. As a horror film in the manner of Saw, Skill House adds a commentary on the problems of social media stardom and online society. In particular, the film will examine the extent to which people would go in order to get internet ‘clout,’ even if it means undergoing painful and humiliating stunts.
Writing and directing the film is Josh Stolberg, who previously worked on both Jigsaw and Spiral: From the Book of Saw, thus he has some familiarity with the Saw franchise. After the original series of films, both flicks explore the roots of the classic cinematic villain in a new way. Because of this, Skill House may be too much like Saw for some people. While recording a particularly horrific moment, a camera operator actually fell out on the spot, according to reports. “Just as this film is the first of a new genre of horror, social media stars like Bryce and Hannah represent a new kind of celebrity,” Stolberg told The Wrap of the upcoming film. We are breaking creative and career barriers at this place,” he said.
This project is all about online celebrities and the growth of the entertainment business, and Hannah fits the bill well. “We are ecstatic to have her on board,” says the director. 50 Cent, on the other hand, is no stranger to the acting industry. In addition to his appearance in the 2005 biography Get Rich or Die Tryin’, he has appeared in films including Righteous Kill and the 2015 spy thriller Spy.
As a former Tiktok star, Hannah Stocking joins the cast, lending the picture an air of authenticity. Stocking has already appeared in various films and television shows, including a role in the terrifying Boo 2! A Madea Halloween, so this isn’t her first foray into acting. Bryce Hall, a well-known TikTok and YouTube celebrity in the United States, has also agreed to participate in the project. A mixed martial artist, Paige Vanzant, has also been cast in the project. Steve Johnson, a veteran of films including Big Trouble in Little China and Ghostbusters, will handle the makeup effects. Developed by Ryan Kavanaugh’s Proxima Studios, this game is called Skill House. Currently, there is no release date established.
