Sex Education’s upcoming fourth season on Netflix: Everything You Need To Know

Sex Education season 4 is expected to begin production any day now, meaning we’re one step closer to Netflix’s blockbuster comedy series making a return to our screens. For the time being, no information on the next episode of the programme is available, but do not worry, there will be enough to keep you entertained while you wait. For starters, we’ve done our best to guess when new episodes will be available on Netflix and when a teaser for the upcoming season will be released. Along with all of the cast announcements that have been made so far, we’ve also provided you with a review of Season 3 and speculated on what the fourth season could hold for the students of Moordale Secondary School. If you want to know more about Sex Education season 4, then keep reading to find out what we know thus far.

Release date rumours for Sex Education season 4
Filming for the 4th season of Sex Education is scheduled to begin sometime in the summer of 2022. Considering that Season 3 began production in September of 2020 and was released a year later, a season 4 premiere in the summer of 2021 seems feasible. Keep an eye out for more information on that front.

When will there be a new Sex Education season 4 trailer?
Netflix published the first full-length trailer for Sex Education season 3 two weeks before to its premiere on streaming services in September 2021. When it comes to Season 4, we’ll have to wait a long time before we receive our first taste of the new season.

Season 4 cast of Sex Education
Despite the fact that Sex Education season 4 casting has yet to be announced, we know that Simone Ashley will not be returning as Olivia – Ashley joined the cast of Bridgerton for the show’s second season as Kate Sharma, and she has since confirmed that she has swapped modern-day high school for Regency high society. Both Tanya Reynolds, who portrays Ola’s love interest, and Patricia Allison, who plays Ola, have stated that they won’t be returning for the upcoming season. Reynolds told Radio Times, “I’m not [returning], honestly, which is terrible, very sad” (opens in new tab).

I think you have to let a few older characters go to make place for fresh ones when you have such large ensemble casts and so many characters, which is precisely the proper thing, the way it should happen.” On top of all that, Sex Education cast members Ncuti Gatwa (Otis’ best buddy Eric) and Emma Mackey (Maeve) have parts in future movies like Greta Gerwigs’ Barbie. No word yet on whether or not Gatwa or Mackey will return, although, given their increasingly hectic schedules, it’s probable that they’ll have fewer roles next season.
According to our predictions, Otis, portrayed by Asa Butterfield and his sex-therapist mother Jean, played by Gillian Anderson, will definitely be back. Connor Swindells (Adam), Aimee Lou Wood (Aimee), Kedar Williams-Stirling (Jackson), and Mimi Keene (Otis’ fellow student) are series regulars (Ruby).

Spoilers for the 3rd season of Sex Education
A new chapter in Otis and Maeve’s love triangle was closed with the season finale of Sex Education, which saw the couple finally get together before quickly splitting up when Maeve decided to go to the United States for the summer to study abroad. It will be the focus of Season 4 to see if being apart has helped either of their hearts grow any fonder. Meanwhile, Eric and Adam break up in the season 3 finale, as Eric struggles to deal with being in a relationship with someone who isn’t at ease with their own identity. A haemorrhage during delivery causes Jean to deliver her baby and has surgery, which she successfully recovers from.

There is a nice chance that we will witness the consequences of the baby’s paternity test in season 4. The pupils of Moordale Secondary are informed that their school is being sold to developers and that they must find alternate arrangements to complete their education. This is likely to be the most significant narrative element of the new season. There will be a “creative reset” in the next season, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which says that “a mix of old and new characters” will be introduced when Sex Education transfers from Moordale High to another school.
