Black Panther 2 will not see Daniel Kaluuya’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor performed the role of W’Kabi in the first movie. W’Kabi is married to Danai Gurira’s Okoye and has a strong relationship with Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa, despite the fact that he supports Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger against his buddy.
Jacqueline Coley of Rotten Tomatoes was the one who broke the news on Twitter (opens in new tab), stating that Kaluuya will not be returning for the Marvel sequel owing to schedule difficulties with the upcoming film Nope, which is being directed by Jordan Peele. Alongside Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun, Kaluuya will be starring in the next science fiction horror picture.
Gurira will return for her role as Okoye in the upcoming sequel to Black Panther, which will also include the return of the characters played by Shuri (Letitia Wright), Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Ramonda (Angela Bassett), and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman). Newcomers include Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart, and Tenoch Huerta in a mystery role. Speculation has centred on Tenoch Huerta playing Atlantean prince Namor, but Huerta has poked fun at people who think pictures of him as the character have leaked. Thorne portrays Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart.
There is not much known about the storyline of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever; nevertheless, Freeman has hinted that we might anticipate something surprising to happen in the movie. “Some of it was incredibly strange, and I believe that [director Ryan Coogler] could tell by the response on my face to some of the things he was saying… He would sort of start moving again, and then halt… He said over and over, “Stay here with me, but we’re going to make this work.”
On November 11, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will finally be released. Before that happens, She-Hulk will make her debut on Disney Plus on August 17 of this year.
