An Elden Ring hacker just received their due from a player they fought, netting the victorious player millions of runes. Cheaters and hackers don’t appear to be a huge issue in the recently launched FromSoftware game, but when they do get through, they can outperform even the most tenacious Elden Ring gamers. Elden Ring is undoubtedly the most friendly and approachable FromSoftware game, yet it is far from simple. Those who choose to take on The Lands Between and all of its hazards will almost certainly struggle and fail at times due to the abundance of powerful and scary foes.
Players do have options for relieving the strain, however; there is the traditional route of progression via collecting Runes (the game’s currency) and spending them on stat increases; there is the option to summon friendly players and NPCs; and there are numerous buffs that provide an advantage in combat, such as the Great Runes and Flask of Wondrous Physick. By mastering these benefits and developing your talents, you can transform Elden Ring bouts into movie-quality spectacles. However, hackers may get around all of this, and one such hacker was discovered by Reddit user Key Meaning 9036.
Fortunately, Key Meaning 9036 was able to eliminate this nefarious gamer, receiving a prize of 22 million Runes in the process. This user’s post, which was discovered by DualShockers, is simply captioned “I murdered my first cheater in an invasion.” Key Meaning 9036 says in the post’s comments that they want to discard the Runes rather than spend them on levelling. Key Meaning 9036’s decision here may be perplexing to anybody suffering from Elden Ring’s difficulty; after all, many players pour hours into the game in order to level up. However, this presents an intriguing question about the game’s complexity.
While features such as Elden Ring’s Summoning Ashes can make the game simpler, 22 million Runes would ruin the experience. Elden Ring, like FromSoftware’s past releases, places a strong emphasis on the difficulty in order to elevate its storey and the sense of accomplishment earned from defeating its numerous hurdles. When considering FromSoftware games, the subject of difficulty will always take up a lot of room. Many may claim that, in the absence of accessibility choices such as an easy mode, cheating is the only option for gamers who find the task too difficult, and hence an acceptable behaviour. The game world may never achieve an agreement on this matter, but one remark should not be too contentious: cheating in a PvP setting should be strongly prohibited.
