There was a pre-launch trailer that didn’t make it into the final output of Horizon Forbidden West, and some gamers have spotted this. On her journey to rebuild Horizon’s Terraforming AI, known as GAIA, Aloy must overcome perilous terrain and battle an enemy known as the Blight before the world can be saved. Horizon Forbidden West’s hard-light glider and grappling hook-like Pullcaster are only two of the new equipment she learns to use as she progresses across the game’s world. To the open-world, robot-hunting gameplay that made 2017’s Horizon: Zero Dawn an unexpected smash on the PlayStation 4, Horizon: Forbidden West adds several new elements.
In addition to the PS5 DualSense controller’s tactile feedback and improved immersion, Aloy may also swim underwater and fly machines like Horizon Forbidden West’s new Sunwing. During the PlayStation State Of Play Livestream event in May of last year, a visually spectacular Horizon Forbidden West teaser showed off some of these new gameplay elements. At one point, Aloy is called upon to assist her friend Erend in surviving an encounter with a gigantic Tremortusk. Comicbook.com reports that Reddit users have discovered that the Horizon Forbidden West State of Play film was an amazing display of the PlayStation exclusive, but the exact mission seen in it is missing from the completed game.
A recent post by Jmcc84 stated that they would rather meet up with Erend again during this encounter with the Tremortusk than the way he appears in Horizon Forbidden West’s final release. For Guerilla Games to be able to show off the game’s aesthetics and new features without fear of spoilers, this mission was likely a “vertical slice” that was never meant for release in Horizon Forbidden West. A few others have pointed out that Horizon: Zero Dawn has a Thunderjaw encounter that never occurred in the 2017 original. Although the trailer for Horizon Forbidden West is missing, fans and journalists alike have praised the game for the numerous changes it makes over Horizon: Zero Dawn.
In Horizon Forbidden West, some players have complained that the melee gameplay still feels a little sluggish, while others have argued that the game offers too much side stuff. The magnificently rendered post-apocalyptic open-world of Horizon Forbidden West has been acclaimed by many who have played the game, even though some are dissatisfied that the game only has one conclusion despite Aloy encountering several narrative possibilities.
Although the rescue of Erend by Aloy in Horizon Forbidden West’s May 2021 PlayStation State Of Play teaser may have excited some players, the final game’s version of this event differs significantly from the trailer’s depiction of the event. Horizon Forbidden West is presently one of Sony’s first big releases in 2022, but fans are still enjoying it.
