After a lengthy period of anticipation, we have finally received an update on Overlord season 4. The dark fantasy series was revived in May 2021, and now, nearly a year later, we have fresh episodes to share with you. Not only are the creators planning the fourth instalment, but they are also going to make a full picture.
Storyline/Plot
Overlord is a one-of-a-kind isekai series that takes place in an online role-playing game called Overlord. The game’s servers are permanently shut down, but one player who has signed in is left imprisoned in the game’s servers. It appears like he has been transferred to this game world, where all of the NPCs are still there. He considers his situation at home and concludes that he stands to gain nothing by participating. Because of his immense stature, he has the potential to be a highly strong entity. His original name was Momonga, but he has changed it to Ainz Ooal Gown, who is now the new overlord of the gaming world.
Overlord is an action-packed thriller with a fast-paced and engrossing narrative. Aside from the powerful main character, all of the minor characters are well-developed. By the end of season 3, we can see that Ainz is still on a mission for power.
He intends to take full use of the conflicts between humans, demi-humans, and heteromorphic non-player characters (NPCs). Season 4 of Overlord will premiere in 2022, with no specific release date yet announced. However, we can anticipate it to be released around October, along with a number of other major games. Others, after researching the anime’s prior release dates, predict that it will be released in the summer.
The Madhouse staff is also hard at work on the film at the same time. It will go further into the Overlord universe and will be able to adapt a complete volume of the series as well. In the meanwhile, we’ll have to wait until season 4 to learn what Ainz’s intentions are for achieving world dominance.
