SoFi Stadium, the site of the 2022 Super Bowl, has been rebuilt in Minecraft as a tribute to the future event. More and more players are creating ever-larger masterpieces without losing their attention to detail as the sandbox game has evolved over the past decade. It’s not uncommon to see enormous creations based on works of fiction, such as a recent Minecraft replica of Tatooine from Star Wars.
Creators can also draw inspiration from reality by recreating well-known sites, which they do so as closely as possible to their original scale. The majority of gamers that undertake such a challenge go one step further and attempt to match as many specifics as possible in order to maximise the level of immersion in the final product. Incredible reproduction of the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California, by Reddit user bubbaflubba2, has been added to the ever-growing collection of remarkable Minecraft projects. This year’s Super Bowl hosts the Los Angeles Rams, whose new stadium took more than 100 hours to build, according to the developer.
Finally finished it just in time, and posted a series of photographs on Reddit to show off the finished product. Besides the stadium, Bubbaflubba2’s recreation includes the surrounding grounds, including the artificial Rivers Lake.
This replica of a unique stadium looks to be incredibly accurate in all of the photos. bubbaflubba2 didn’t provide photographs of the stadium’s concourse or tunnels, so it’s not obvious how extensive the construction is.
The National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland, was modelled in Minecraft last year by a different designer who had all of these core features in place. Even if the Minecraft community continues to develop large and complex structures, the effect of these constructions still has weight. Seeing a design like SoFi Stadium constructed is still awe-inspiring, even when there are other designs that are substantially larger. Bubbaflubba2 should be praised for completing the project in time for Super Bowl LVI by timing out the whole procedure. It’s to be hoped that the actual game lives up to this amazing reproduction.
