The ray tracing in the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 has been put on display in the first State of Play stream of 2022. Even more interesting is the fact that the new driving simulator incorporates a Porsche concept car that was designed expressly to be used in it. When GT 7 was announced at the end of 2021, Porsche Vision Gran Turismo, a unique racing vehicle only available in the virtual world of the racing game, was announced.
In order to develop the stunning futuristic design, the Porsche team drew inspiration from some of the company’s most historic models, including the classic Porsche 911. The interior of the car has the same high level of authenticity and attention to detail, giving the impression that you are driving a finely crafted spaceship. Gran Turismo 7’s most recent showing demonstrated this level of fine detail. This year’s first PlayStation State of Play 2022 has shown over half an hour of Gran Turismo 7 gameplay from the PS5 version.
Gran Turismo 7, one of the major PS5 exclusives scheduled for release in 2022, is intended to demonstrate the real next-gen graphic quality, and the recent presentation shows that it does. The upcoming racing game GT7 will benefit from the PS4’s native ray tracing capability, which works wonders for the game. To achieve the lifelike look and feel of the game’s lighting and reflections, ray tracing was used in the PS5 version.
Since their shiny surfaces accurately reflect the surrounding environment, automobiles are a real benefit of the technology. In the live stream recording, ray-tracing footage can be accessed at minute 26. Polyphony’s comment on ray tracing support in September 2021 was contradicted by the recent presentation of Gran Turismo 7. According to the studio’s CEO at the time, ray tracing technology will only be used for replays and garage scenes in GT7.
There was no mention of this particular constraint in the most recent presentation, so it’s unclear if Polyphony has discovered a solution. The makers of Gran Turismo 7 from Polyphony believe that the game represents the culmination of the franchise’s progression. Because the gaming footage seems so much like a real-life racing film, this is definitely accurate in terms of the game’s aesthetics. The use of ray tracing to achieve such a high degree of visual quality is a fitting tribute to the Gran Turismo series’ 25th anniversary. It’s also a great way to introduce newbies to the driving simulator genre.
