Raian and Edward fight to a tie, but Raian gradually gains the upper hand. With time, Raian’s Removal technique is found to be the most effective in this combat. You can’t get much better. In his current state, Edward appears to be beyond saving. Raian has purposely targeted the artery at the nape of his neck so that he will bleed to death. I don’t expect Edward to live much longer unless something spectacular happens. In light of Erioh’s prophecy, I am much more confident that Edward will fall.
Aside from protecting a few rookie warriors by assuming all the risks, Erioh probably won’t survive this one either. Erioh’s fans would be disappointed to learn that he will not be presenting his daughter to Ohma as they had thought. Chapter 144 Recap
Erioh’s neck is shattered in a single blow in Chapter 144, entitled “Transcendent.” After the bloody panel, we saw flashbacks of Erioh’s strategy to take down Edward. It would be impossible for Erioh and his minions to win a fight against Edward, he claimed. The assassination method will be used since it is time for a sacrifice. We had no notion if he was talking about himself. Using Edward’s Removal technique, the poison is successfully removed, much to Erioh’s dismay. In the form of Raian, their guardian deity, he screams at his grandfather for being so negligent moments before he was about to harm everyone.
Even if Edward’s initial meeting with him is nasty, things only got worse from there. He fires his “Moun Tai North Star Eightfold Demolution Fist,” while Raian relies on his “Removal” tactic. It’s impossible to predict who will emerge victorious in this slugfest, as both fighters continue to joust. But Erioh says Edward’s pride in his position will be the last of him. On the other hand, Edward would have died if he had been at the pinnacle of his powers at the time. It’s clear from the look on his face that he’s happy with how the battle ended. However, he believes that his grandson Raian Kure would surpass him in the future. Everything goes according to plan, and Raian soon seizes the initiative in the fight. With his index finger, he stabs him in the neck to end the bleeding lunatic’s life.
