The Shiekah slate camera in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is fooled into believing that a painting of a horse actually exists. Compendium entries in the Sheikah Slate’s compendium are based on the photos Link takes as he explores Hyrule’s various creatures and objects.
Link can ride a variety of creatures in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. A large horse that bears a resemblance to Ganondorf’s horse is one of the many horses that can be trained and tamed. There are also bears and the Lord of the Mountain that can be ridden but are not registered in BotW. The Shiekah slate can store a plethora of information about each of these creatures.
If the slate asked to replace an old picture of a horse when taking a picture of this painting, Reddit user Notnilc13 agreed. Notnilc13 claims that the slate mistook the painting for an actual horse at first, but the real reason for this is that a horse can be seen in the background of the painting. As much as it reveals the misunderstanding that initially appeared to be amusing, it is still an amusing incident.
In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, players have gotten creative with horses. Getting horses into places where they aren’t normally allowed has proven to be a challenge for a few players. Zora’s Domain and the Gerudo Desert are included in this. One player also discovered a way to stop a horse’s fall by freezing it in mid-air with ice arrows. These cheats demonstrate the depth of the game’s mysteries.
What remains to be seen is how horses will be dealt with in the sequel to Breath of the Wild, as more information is released. Although the paid DLC for the first Breath of the Wild eventually added the ability to summon horses from anywhere, it would be ideal if this functionality were not restricted to that DLC in Breath of the Wild 2. Despite the fact that the truth about the horse painting isn’t as amusing as the initial impression made, this image should be kept as the horse entry picture. In the end, the storey of the horse and the slate it was captured on is still a funny one to tell.
